Today didnt do much to my truck....just removed the knackered power steering hose from the li'll white locked up leafer ready for the new one coming off the yella fronterror...(its getting nissan patrol powersteering along with the axles so aint gonna need the hose!)...
Then did some work on Wilberforces 2.8shorty...
Drained the front axle after fighting with the belly plate (some numpty in the past has mullered the torx bolts, but cold chisel got em out eventually before I reached for the gas-axe!)...
Then used a magnet and started collecting stuff from inside the front diff housing...only found one tooth and some filings so hopefully the diff will last a while with some extra assistance from the rear

Refilled the front diff with fresh horrid smelling stuff! Refitted the belly plate with some better bolts...
Next jacked the rear and whipped off the rear diff cover, draining the diff at the same time....
Degreased the differential and coated the crown wheel and pinion in anti spatter spray....and then got busy with the murex monster on the bevel gears...
The shorty now has a welded/locked rear which should help the not-very-well front diff out loads...and give it much better offroad performance into the deal...
Then removed the weld spatter from the casing and resealed and fitted the diff cover back on...
Adjusted the load valve for the lift that was done nearly as year ago...and then put her back to bed...
Will be good to see how she does at the next picnic...special tracks and locked up ar5e are gonna make this thing unstoppable...and hopefully the locked rear will keep the front slippage to a minimum helping the wounded front diff last for a while...
