well she is back together, and road worthy, well almost, just a small mater of a cv boot, and nudge bar,
but she is ready to roll, and she had a bit of a clean

I've done something to my truck today

- about bloomin time too, as it's been sat still for nigh on 4 months.

Had it MOT'd last week = Fail.

Will go in for repair on Tuesday: some knucke joints on the steering need replacing (badly warn apparently). Failed on emissions, hense the new set of plugs (regapped) and a shot of redex injector cleaner, also tweaked the MAF. New set of rear brake shoes required and possibly a bracke cylinder. And a headlight bulb had blown.

Sounded sweet with the new plugs and tweak - will see what Tuesday brings.

Trugga, before you take it for a re-test chuck some CATACLEAN into the fuel tank.

The emmissions are most probally high due to a Lazy Cat, especially cos it's stood for so long.

But it also cleans injectors and lambda sensors without any damage.

A 500ml bottle will do, around £15.00 from most good motor factors, and I'm sure it's got a money back guarantee on it as well.

so far over the last few days i have stripped the dash out, done the re-wiring behind the clocks, done the soldering of the clocks (still not working speedo and everything else only works on the side lights :?:

), stripped the interior out and gave it a good clean (used to be a smokers car

) taken throttle body off and given it a good clean now the accelerator doesnt stick

done a plastic weld on the radiator then covered with molten plastic and covered that with araldite, hope it lasts. checked all underneath the car (first car i have ever been able to drive up my ramps) now just waiting for friday to tax it and see how she runs.

yeah the yorkie repair is the one i tried

i also went over all the other soldered joins just in case
unfortunately not got a multimeter to check the actual boards but did look thriugh magnifying glass and couldnt find anything
ill have to try the multimeter way over next few days before friday
oh just off the top af your head is it normal for a car to blow all four lights on the back of the clocks (side light lights)

To be honest Im not sure with the B's, our old trucks are a tad less fickle in that department.

i gotta admit i like the look of the older clocks a bit better cause they got a voltmeter

can you fit an old set in to a B?

oh well was worth a thought.

i think the bulbs might have been down to the last owners bodge

Checked out my steering wobble yesterday and I can move the cv joint side to side. I looked up and got a drip of water in my eye. The water pump has sprung a leak. :roll:

Dropped it off the jacks and went for a :drink:

I've only got one usable hand just now after severing the tendons in my finger so repairs have to wait.

Just been told that the rear section on my LED beacon bar thingy wasn't working. I gave it a clout, and hey presto. Must have a loose wire. Will have a look at it at work tomorrow when I bring some screwdrivers in.

I DROVE it down the road and back.
First time in two years.
