Re: Insurance Renewal Time Again!Just a little heads up on automatic renewals
On our Focus the premium the went up from £320 to £538 - we had a no fault possible claim logged on our files - in fact we didn't even claim on our insurance because we put the claim through the third party's insurance. It was totally their fault and they admitted liability. So when the renewal came through, I phoned Admiral to ask why such a jump. Reply was insurance premiums have gone up this year but they did not mention the fact that a possible claim had been logged on the file. They did advise me that they could give me a loyalty bonus and if I put the excess up they could reduce the premium to £480. At no point did I say that I wanted to renew at this lower premium. Off I go to Adrian Flux and a like for like to the reduced version could be had for £280. On I sign with Adrian Flux and Admiral can go and swivel. To my surprise I get a new certificate and schedule from Admiral on the terms of the £480 premium. In goes the phone call as to why I received the new certificate. The conversation went 'did I inform them that I did NOT want the insurance'. My reply was that I didn't actually authorise it and that they should check the recording of the for training purposes telephone conversation. Reply from Admiral was that they are on an automatic renewal policy - which is apparently stated in the small print somewhere - and unless I specifically instructed them that I did NOT want the renewal, it would automatically be activated. In fairness to Admiral, after arguing the point, they have agreed to refund all my renewal premium and they are not going to charge me the statutory cancellation fee.
Re: Insurance Renewal Time Again!A lot of these cheap qouto"s guys on here keep getting with ( Adrian Flux / Frank Pickles ) and Sureterm Direct ,
it must be going off your POST CODE"S as these company"s don"t seem to like mine I.E : MANCHESTER . I"V GOT 29 years claim free . full licence 45 years age 62 and showing my age every time i get an insurance quote . So i had to go with SAGA. Fully comp £313 .11 - 4000 miles - voluntary excess £250 . windscreen covered no excess on screen . social domestic & pleasure only . no claims discount protected , Just me driving jeep . Some of you guys over 50 should check SAGA out they might be cheaper than the like"s of ( Adrian Flux / Frank Pickles ) and Sureterm Direct . When i got my Jeep quote off Saga i asked how much for home Building Cover and Contents they came back with quote of £141 for Building and Contents and said if you take out Jeep and Building and Contents Cover we knock another £15 quid of the Building/Contence quote , as this quote was a lot lower than i paid last year with LLOYDS /TSB which was £250 for Building/Contence i took them up on there offer ,,
Re: Insurance Renewal Time Again!I am in the 50+ category now. The reason I went with SureTerm was primarily because of:
1.included greenlaning cover; 2.included towing. I need both these specifics and SureTerm delivered. Had I gone to a cheaper company I would have lost the greenlaning cover and the towing would have caused a much increased premium - if the other companies were prepared to provide cover. Re: Insurance Renewal Time Again!I've just done mine for the V6, the cheapest was sureterm with £379, sd&p, greenlaning, towing, legal cover, breakdown cover, some other cover (that pays upto 5 people in my car upto £20,000 for serious injury/death),, I am 32 with4 years nc, £200 excess.
Most of the quotes I was getting for the V6 were around £500 BUT GET THIS, I also did quotes for my 2L rover (the rover is older and worth less than the V6). The cheapest quote I got for it was £640 OUCH.

Re: Insurance Renewal Time Again!Ive forgot who im insured with, & cannot find any paperwork, must be through a parent group, as the bank standing order makes no sense either. I had to tax it online as i had no docs. I could do the Motor insurance database but that costs, so i will just cancel the payment next month & wait for them to write to me !
