Technical help and advice wanted please?

When the timing belt was replaced was just the belt replaced or was it a timing belt kit with rollers etc?

no mate its sitting on the drive untill i can be bothered to get it sorted out, its advisable not to drive yours incase it gets very low on coolant & overheats, that might cause you to have more problems , i dont really do long trips in mine its just normally running around town so luckilly mine never got hoter than its normal running temp !

BLOODY HELL!!!!

It's fixed!!!! A bottle of the stuff went in plus a litre of coolant......then test drove for thirty miles. Got to normal operating temperature, billowing started. Five miles later no billowing, interior heater working, temp erature stable. After the test drive I rechecked coolant level and it was 5mm from filler cap top. Sorted. Thanks, guys.

I banged that in a Rover I was part exing with a suspect head gasket to a dealer many moons ago.

I wouldnt use it in my car, it can block water galleries and is only a temporary fix at best, its better to fix the cause rather than stick a plaster on it.

I know it sounds harsh but just dont want further damage to occur on your motor.

i was thinking about trying it myself if you had good results lloyd but i think drifts post has made me think again cos its probably only going to be temporary & it could cause further problems & so more expense in the future, im thinking heater matrix for 1 & if that gets blocked its a total dash strip out to replace it so i think ill get mine done again with a better quality h/g this time :wink:

i bought this stuff and added it to my cooling system nearly 4 months ago and there has been no problems with any clogging up of any pipes and i`ve not had to top up my coolant since then either

On a slightly different note, I wonder whether the injection of water into the combustion pots might raise compression and boost performance, as nitrous oxide injection does? :?:
