Snow Watch

well just had a quick walk outside to see what i's like and bloody freezingbut not a cloud in the sky here in derby and no snow either Bah!!!

Took the other half to work at 6am and there was snow every where :dance:

snow is still falling and my truck now looks like this at 7 am

My tracks in the road from earlier couldn't be seen :lol:

Looks like I will be having the day off today, I cant get my van out. Just sits there spinning the wheels. oh dear!! :roll:

We are due some snow tonight, but what really got my attention was Fridays temp forecast. Now the forecast is always a few degrees colder here than predicted on these forecasts , so I reckon we are in for -15 to -20 :shock:

10 degrees warmer here today than yesterday with +4 & an almost tropical feel to it so its a no snow show day !

They said dont go on you own. but i went they said be careful an i was they said wrap up and i wore a silly hat they said will you be gone long and i was 45 minutes.

I cranked the engine an cleared the snow of the roof and windows while the cab warmed up an thawed out. The sun was setting so i took a torch. The cab was warm an wet bloody ice had melted an was dripping on me before been a dribble running down my back. The garage was low on fuel only two pumps had the liquid energy.
Got some fuel an i set off towrds my destination i arrived an switched to 4wd yeah 4wd i was going in ALONE!!!!!!!
Ahead i saw a mountain of snow blocking my path that some one had made using an mountian snow making machine. Head home no i cut a path i was going cross country i was leaving the path!!!!!
I drove at a sidewards angle throught the trees to the top of the hill it was dark the sun had fell off the sky leaving me in darkness wooohhhhooo went the wind.The road ahead was white an over grown

Ahead i could just see a path camera in hand i hit record

As i rounded the bend at the end of the track i could see the lights of the city in the gloom

I had been here before but this time it was dark cold an snow covered ice

I got out to check the path leaving marvin running

I climbed the embankment with the ground dropping 20 feet to the river clyde i feared the worst

I could feelthe back end wanting to go so i gave a little more gas an pulled away from the edge. I climbed the hill over the crest an down into the gulley switching to 4wd lo i climed the steep uphill back whhel diggin in front wheel grabbing marvin rumbled up the hill then onto the flat i knew what was coming the BIG HILL

pah - more snow - Anglesey have had 10" apparently, never been heard off!! Flip knows how much more have had, impossible to tell now :roll:

Yer my mum just called 5" more in Abergele on top of the frozen stuff already lying :lol:

My dad has to go Ysbyty Glan Clwyd today, to visit my grandad, hope the roads are OK

My Mum said she is not going out as only tractors are moving about as the gritters cant get out :shock:

Ive just shouted at the daft old moo, she is cleaning snow off her conservatory roof :oh yer:

told her I would get over today but she got defensive :lol:

we havent been ploughed or anything, it's not the best

Ive got Jess here and she aint well, but the silver haired hippy sounds in good spirits :lol:

Me and blue have just near been impaled by a giant icicle at the back door, bloody pooped myself :shock:

"Our First Winter"

DEC 20th
It's starting to snow. The first of the season and the first we've seen
for years. The wife and I took out our hot toddies and sat on the porch
watching the fluffy soft flakes drift gently down clinging to the trees
and covering the ground. It's so beautiful and peaceful.

DEC 24th
We awoke to a lovely blanket of crystal white glistening snow covering as
far as the eye could see. What a fantastic sight, every tree and bush
covered with a beautiful white mantle. I shovelled snow for the first time
ever and loved it. I did both our driveway and the pavement. Later that
day a snowplough came along and accidentally covered up our driveway with
compacted snow from the street. The driver smiled and waved. I waved back
and shovelled it away again. The children next door built a snowman with
coal for eyes and a carrot for a nose, and had a snowball fight, a
couple just missed me and hit the car so I threw a couple back and joined
in their fun.

DEC 26th
It snowed an additional 5 inches last night and the temperature dropped
to around minus 8 degrees. Several branches on our trees and bushes
snapped due to the weight of the snow. I shovelled the driveway again.
Shortly afterwards the snowplough came by and did his trick again.
Much of the snow is now a brownish - grey.

JAN 1st
Warmed up enough during the day to create some slush which soon became
ice when the temperature dropped again. Bought snow tyres for both our
cars. Fell on my arse in the driveway. Went to a physio but nothing was broken.

JAN 5th
Still cold. Sold the wife's car and bought her a 4x4 to get her to work.
She slid into a wall and did considerable damage to the right wing. Had
another 8 inches of white poo last night. Both vehicles are covered in
salt and iced up slush That ~~~~~ snowplough came by twice today.
Where's that bloody shovel.

JAN 9th
More I must not swear snow. Not a tree or bush on our property that hasn't been
damaged. Power was off most of the night. Tried to keep from freezing to
death with candles and a paraffin heater which tipped over and nearly
torched the house. I managed to put the flames out but suffered 2nd
degree burns on my hands. Lost all my eyebrows and eyelashes. Car hit a I must not swear
deer on the way to casualty and car was written off.

JAN 13th
I must not swear ~~~~~ white poo just keeps on coming down. Have to put on
every article of clothing just to go to the post box. The little c*nts
next door ambushed me with snowballs on the way back - I'll shove that
carrot so far up the little ~~~~~'s arse it'll take a good surgeon hours
to find it. If I ever catch the c*nt that drives the snowplough I'll chew
open his chest and rip out his heart with my teeth. I think the ~~~~~
hides around the corner and waits for me to finish shovelling and then he
accelerates down the street like Michael Schufuckingmacher and buries the

JAN 17th
Sixteen more I must not swear inches of I must not swear snow and I must not swear ice and I must not swear
sleet and god knows what other white poo fell last night. I am in court
in 3 months time for assaulting the snowplough driver with an ice-pick.
Can' t move my I must not swear toes. Haven't seen the sun for 5 weeks.
Minus 20 and more I must not swear snow forecast.

JAN 18th
**** THIS, I'M MOVING BACK TO LONDON

Couldn't resist that last way off topic post.
Snow forecast for tomorrow over here but the poor fragile flakes will drown in the surface water.
Here it is just huge amounts of water falling from the skies.
Three mornings in a row the wheel barrow outside that I use to bring in the logs was overflowing.
Them conical rain meters can't handle it.
For those in North West England it is great as the Earthquake probably cleared a few roofs.
