Thanks to Audiman I fitted 4 3 spoke wheels and tires. 255/65/16.

Il take a pic in the light but with a nigh on 6" lift they look err..... DAFT!!!

Still though, with me clocking up more road miles they should keep fuel consumption down a bit and the Old Girl feels positively sprightly now.

Today i started to strip the engine to fit a new timing chain kit but was defeated by one part and the light :lol:

Got insurance for Freya, started her up and set off, Eml came on and no power. Limped her home and then sprayed all plug leads and distributer with WD40. Stated her up again and little change. Thought oh well lets try giving her a quick blst round the village see if we can clear her throat. 5 minutes later and shes singing a much nicer tune. Been about 40 miles in her today and shes running like a dream.
Not bad for a car I bought for 250 euros as spares for Fifi. Additional costs so far about 150 euros for a new key and programmed to ECU. Probably going to need some tyres for the CT then that will be her.

Picked up the truck from the garage today. New clutch in and changing gear like a good thing.

No more notchy 2nd gear changes and the pedal is as light as a feather.

When I first bought the truck some years ago the clutch was heavy and changes were sluggish. Got a new clutch fitted under warranty and the clutch action was a lot lighter but heavier then other manual cars Id driven. I think they only fitted the friction disc and not a complete kit as I asked the garage to keep the old bits for me to have a look at and the clutch disc was very thin!

Still tho, I was quoted happy and supplied my own kit so wasnt that expensive.

Managed to get the timing cover off tessie today then had to get a new sump gasket due to damaging the old one :oh yer:

I opened the door well pulled at it due to the frost. And thought "mmm no cold Fix it tomorrow"

Hey Rancid, looks like you got quite some slack on the chain there (down on the left side of the lower cog).... !!
Have you released the chain from the cam at the point the picture was taken, or have it been running with that much slack??? :shock:

clean the snow off my 2 then decide which one to take out

Flushed cooling system and refilled, fitted new window regulator and glass so no more compulsory air conditioning! Sanded down new A bar ready for a respray. Big thanks to Tom for sortin the parts!

stripped out the o/s rear disc brakes on the trooper as hand brake was sticking sliders all free now

funny thing is i took disc off and no handbrake shoes inside :?:

on closer inspection the handbrake works through the disc brakes

so its not the same as the fronty brake system

Started her up (after a few tries), checked fluids etc, pumped tyres up a bit. Might go for a spin in a bit

put a new exhaust, outside, in the snow, on the floor, now indoors with a warm glass of port......the things i do for the love of my truck :lol:

gave mine a good kick when walking past it to get in my trusty mondeo & threatened it with an exchange for a shogun if it dont buck its self up in the new year :lol:

Took Pindy to the fill ya boot place, and filled her full of logs

Got the sport running again thanks to muddy fucker. was hit by a blizzard in my driveway while out there

Nearly forgot, tried to superglue the indicator lens thingy back on and failed miserably (too cold for superglue maybe?) so I went to Halfrauds and got an ickle tube of clear sillycone stuff to stick it back on with and on the way back wondered why I'm still getting rubbish MPG even after we fixed the little hose that had come off the top of the tank (250 miles and it's down to 1/4 tank left)

Went out & started her up,left idling to de-ice windows etc,then walked down to the town :oh yer:

has the booze kicked in & me not noticed :roll:

Drove from Trondheim to Oslo an a bit further yesterday, 600 km total and 250 of those with a stuck accelerator cable as we were hit by severe cold conditions. 33 degrees C below and the accelerator froze up solid. Managed to pull over and stop once, had a look at it and gave it a spray of WD40. Tried to shield the radiator and cable with cardboard and drove on. Rest of the car working good, a bit hard to keep the temperature up inside though..

First when we hit the southern part of the country and it got up to 22 degrees the damn thing started to thaw. Good thing as it would have been hard to travel through Oslo city with the accelerator stuck. Had 100 kph in fifth gear, 80 in fourth and 60 in third. Practical

This morning I discovered that the cold had taken out one of my CV joint gaiters as well. Fix it tomorrow. X-mas holiday and happy times :drink:

Looked at it, swore at it, thought about kicking it but, don't want any more bits to fall off it! :lol:

changed the plugs, and started on the screen, but it got snowed of and had to come in, bloody snow
