Took the battery off for charging ready for the alternator work to be carried out tomorrow

has just spent 3 hours fitting DVD player and 3 screens in my fronty

found the problem, now i need to spend some cash, lovey wheres your purse

This evening i sorted the filler pipes tightened the hose clips. Cut the old connector of the earth wire fitted a looped terminal/connector. Drilled a hole and farted about for 20mins trying to fit variouse screws in drilled hole eventually found one an screwed the earth cable to the body job done we have an earth.
Now to the main event:
Cleared all tools etc from around under the frontera i.e shoved them in back of frontera. Popped open the bonnet brought the ford focus along side for the jump start

Turn turn turn turn turn turn turn START died ... turn turn turn start ..running..... ..pass out... swore ..turn turn start ..running........still running... died swore turn start running.....died turn start revved running sport had an asthma attack fainted and passed out..... swore swore Turn start running running running dying dying revved running dying dying coughed ..Idle. moved the ford out the drive.
Then engaged reverse bit of gas wanted to die bit more gas and some revving clear the crap out and it reversed out the drive no brakes so was a quick exit reversed out the street ( live in a cul de sac) turn it round and reversed back down the street into driveway.
JOB DONE for this evening.

Well happy last few days been cold but productive took advantage of the dry spell while i had the chance. The hard part is over I was chuffed to bits hearing it run again and been able to drive it out my drive way. First time it has moved since july.
What`s left:
Brake pedal going to floor need to check that out may need bled.
No headlights forgot to replace bulbs.
Need to fit the replacement radiator as there is a pin hole in current one and was losing water.
The side step need putting back on will clean up the welded sill first then spray it with metal protector, then fit side step.
Tank guard to sort.
Tighten front bearings.
Get rear puncture sorted and switch the front tyre on alloy for the one on a steel wheel as it got ruined when i let it sit flat for so long.

Booked Freya in for a CT (french MOT) on 30 December, found a broker that would insure her on English plates for three month so I have time to get her french registered (his computer down so get quote monday at 6 ish). Shes got CT till end of December so will be able to legally take her for a spin Monday night to see if any probs not noticed so far.

This weekend saturday got up at 7 am

washed and leather the truck got scratches out
then did one coat of polish on and one high gloss re blacked the trim as it had gone gray
fitted new stinger aerial 155m high :lol:

returned the CB
rewired tow bar electrics
put frontera owners stickers on font and back windows
did not finish to 6 pm

To day vac and clean in side
then sort out front fog lamps again keeps blowing fuse :twisted:

Top up oil and water
Put power point in boot

Today when we got back from the hotel after our SE christmas bash I managed to remove the faulty alternator ready for replacement or repair, then resealed the top of the windscreen and lifted the carpets out to dry from said leaking windscreen. Also adjusted the tailgate stricker plate so no more rattelly door when driving. Once the alternator has been finished, the fronty will be ready for the mods to begin :dance:

Replacement alternator turned up on Wed, so today I stripped it just to make sure it was OK and the copper rings were well scored, cleaned them up and reassembled alternator and fitted to the truck.

Took out drivers seat and replaced the rubber streatchy thing in the base as mine was falling apart again :dance:

I put a mini de-humidifier in mine to speed up the drying out process.

started to do the lower ball joint on Nemesis then promptly gave up when i realised i had left all the correct tools at work and saw how rusty all the nuts are on it :oops:
