You forgot the 3.2 v6 petrol = 205 bhp

so makes it a lot more car like in power and road manners as will easily do 70 in third for when you need to put your for down and feed into traffic into the motor way.

Yet have the grunt to get off the line when climbing slopes as i used momentum and helped by traction some times rather than going slow and struggling to get grip.

If I didn't read your country on the right I wouldn't say you guys are from Uk..I can't believe my eyes when you guys bash the Green Oval .. LOL ... Seems I saw too much Top gear where the nationalism is at it's home..

Oh.. so the EU forcing the current defender to retreat from market made the LR think forward ?

The thing is I personally being a non-mechanic is hard to swallow the new Mitsi and the new cars in general..I feel too many things can fail and expensive to diagnose..Today I looked over the clutch kit price for a trooper 3.0 tdi and it costs around 1000 euro new aftermarket..I suppose the OE one is double..For frontera 2.0i petrol on the other hand is around 350euros maximum new aftermarket...Trooper 3.1 tdi is around 450euro minimum aftermarket and rise up to 600-650euro...Just looking at the clutch price you can tell where the car is positioned.
For Defender 2.2 tdi the clutch kit price from Sachs is around the same price as my fronty on the same site..
The only "new" car that comes to mind that is at least from what I hear easy to maintain like my fronty is Suzuki Jimny ..

I have been going thought forums ect last few weeks looking into the rear suspension lift I am going to put a 2 inch spring and shock lift but one deferent answer I carnt find with out loads of umms and ares is will a set of land rover discovery 1 rear springs and shocks fit ????? some say yes they are fine other s are saying no they don't ??????

secondly after the 2 inch lift would a set of 265/75 16 s bfg MTS fit under there and with out bottoming on the under arch ( I know theres a bit of a cut has to be done ) again some people saying yes other people saying no because you have to add spacers ???? ( I don't want to do a body lift so don't need any thing to extreame as only being used as a laner)

I have +2" HD Bearmach LR Defender front springs on my Mk.II Isuzu Trooper LWB. The Frontera being a badged Isuzu Wizard/Mu that uses a similar rear axle means that LR springs will fit

however ...

The spring seats are too small for the LR springs, so you will have to get the LR spring seats. Also the +2" LR springs are designed for the front so on the back of my LWB Trooper it has lifted it by 3 1/2" (measured). You will find on a SWB Fronty at the back you may actually get 4" of lift due to the less weight of the SWB at the back. Performance wise I cannot fault them at all. Perform very well on and off the road. Also make for a very stable truck when towing at my max capacity (and over sometimes) of 3.3 tons with a full load in the boot.

2" you will be fine .. only when you go further and/or disconnect the anti-roll bar's. Same with the shock absorbers.

so you running standard shocks ????

or do you fit 2 inch shocks ???? and if you do you have to extend the brake hose

I run with standard shocks and brake lines on both my trucks. Both are lifted by 2" or so, and I have no issues. One is a leafer and the other is a coiler.

If you start going over 2" or disconnect the anti-roll bars then you will run into issues. The shocks will run out of extension and you run the risk of the brake lines being pulled off. The coilers have more flex on them, so it is more important to address it than on leafers. Saying that I don't go that extreme off road. If this is for maximum flex then I would be fitting spring retainers and dislocation cones. Then extending brake lines, +whatever shocks, and removing the bump stops. I would also be looking at quick-release anti-rollbar links.

thanks mate this is just going to be a lanner only I got my fully modded discovery for any thing else I just want to have the fronty with more clearance to fit bigger tyres that way it has more ground clearance

i would just swap the springs then. with a 2" lift you can easily fit 31's under there. An easy easy option is to fit a set of +2" springs from mark at MG Auto's:

To lift the rear of the vehicle suspension they are saying

Fit land rover discovery 300tdi standard rear spring and seats this will give you a 3 inch lift ???

Or fit landrover discovery 300tdi front or rear +2 inch lift to spring kit and that will raise the car rear in 2 inch ????

How can standard spring give you a 3 inch but fit disco + 2 inch spring and you only gain 2 inch ????

indeed mgautos or i use trooper springs on my lwb B. Heard of people have problems with the lr ones.
