Re: A Series bumpers replacementIf you have any thick brass about it can help to put it behind the thin piece you are welding and if you blow through it will still fill the hole with just the weld but it won't stick to the brass which you can take away afterwards leaving just the steel.
Re: A Series bumpers replacementCheers all for the information, so far thanks to others on here and a lot of phone calls now have a full set of bumpers that don't need welding and the very dodgy patch done at the garage on the seal is grinding down OK.
Also managed to get a 'new old stock' set of side steps as well for a very reasonable price. The old girl should look good once back together. Perhaps it may be worth while a thread on welders!
