Very impressed off road but mpg poor

If I am honest I find the figures hard to believe. If those figures are possible I would have never got rid of my 2.0.
Just had a look on the cavalier forum and they say they get between 30 and 40 mpg at push! And the cavalier is half the weight of 4x4 frontera.

Well ive always found my sports sh1te on fuel, on the last 2 wales trips, which involved a 3.5hr drive on motorways nice n steady, both times layden and lifted with muds i reckon i got around 18-20mpg, if id known Fudges did 40mpg :shock:

id have given him a grand for it when he was sellin, as id av saved that 4 times over in fuel costs! Wasnt made from military grade alloy was it?? :lol:

I have said this before and the factory figures are always unobtainable (exaggerated) and the factory figures on a 20l sport are 23mpg, not a cat in hells chance of a standard 18 year old 20l Frontera increasing the mpg on factory mpg figures.

I had a sport about 8 years ago and it was averaging 19 to 20mpg on a good day.

3.5 mpg is good going :lol:

I get 20- 23mpg out if my sport 5th gearing and slipstreaming Colley on the motorway at 50mph when I'm off roading with him I get about 13mpg I service mine a lot and use a k&n pannel filter. So I'm sorry mate but our 2.0 are better off road than all the other models but cr@p on juice oh and colley you know I can put my foot down when it's needed (pulling you free)

I double my mpg driving behind Tom, I cant get the revs above 1500 when he is in front :lol:

First of all do any of you guys trucks have AC's fitted.?

I get about 30 MPG on a motorway run...from the South to Aberdeen=568 miles one one tank of juice=18 gallons, I filled up when the low fuel light came on and the light came on again when I arrived in Aberdeen (if that's a good measure) also I don't carry much in the back and I'm on my own, and that's another thought if you have BIG people in your truck most of the time will that contribute to your fuel consumption.? :think:

Anyhow, while Admin/Mods can move posts, delete posts, lock threads, amongst other things, they cannot muck about with the timestamp on a post or how the "view new posts" thing works. I'd suggest you simply had an older cached version of that page up and reloading (or pressing F5) that page would've solved the "problem"

Mr Mud, what size/type of tyres do you do you use?
Mines lifted on big muds with a winch and winch bumper so I don't think that helps :think:
