read some good arguements , but thought i'd try and give an honest opinion. having not long got out of the army and having served in iraq, afghanistan, ireland, bosnia and a peace time tour of the falklands, i think i've got a pretty good insight into matters. in some ways the "nuke em" arguement is a good one and was many a topic of conversation on those late nights in kandaha and basrah but you have to remember that some of the population are victims of a regime that has twisted the beliefs written out in the koran, the taliban have taken what is written and taken its meaning the wrong way(thats what you get for only reading one book!) weare there to try and give the people a normal free life back. on the other hand they are probably the most ignorant and sadistical race of people i have ever met and they WILL kill you at any given opertunity, it is a cliche but it really is starting to turn out like our version of vietnam, farmers one minute then taliban fighters the next. sorry for ranting on but having found out that the lancashire lad killed is a close friend who i served with in these countries for 10 years i'm a little angry

Roycey im sorry for your loss of a good friend! i to have friends out there and have lost friends in this conflict and your points on the matter as a soldier thats been there 1st instance and witnessed the situation and had dealings with the people in question im glad you took the time to post your views, cheers.

Honestly Danny, there are so many contradictions in your posts I haven't the energy or inclination to point out the glaringly obvious to you.
