fuel prices

government after government have found that when the treasury needs more cash in times of hardship they always seem to raise duty on the same 4 things - alcohol, tobacco & fuel & road tax, its so easy for them to do it time after time year after year because they know its always accepted by the good old dependable british public !
most other european countries dont pay as high rate of duty on fuel fags & drink as we do so why cant we have a fairer way of spreading the burdon when times get hard rather than hitting the same section of the public everytime ?

ps - i dont smoke anymore & i hardly drink these days & im a low milage driver but i still think its unfair
