Fronty Mods / Market research discussion

Had some great suggestions for parts that people may want...lets keep em coming and save the discussion for threads which will no doubt come about should Mark or other members choose to start production in order to finalize design criteria...

Maybe a list to round up whats been suggested so far might be a good idea Mark to get things back on track.... :wink:

So here goes :-
1. Heavy Duty & Winch Bumpers - Tubular would seem to be the way to go to help keeps costs down and hopefully appeal to a wider market.
2. Rock Sliders - Somthing Gregster's been looking into for the A series and I may well resurect an old design from my old mate Tony (some will have known him as Suzota).
3. Diff Guards - Again Sommthing Gregsters looking into
4. Sump / Belly plates for the B series - Seemed to have been produced before but no longer seem to be in production unless anyone knows different????
5. Safari Style Roof racks - Open to suggestions on this, i.e. what would you like to see it made from and what sort of price would you expect to pay as that will allow me & other's to tell you what can be made for that price, etc...
6. Boot Storage - Well if anyones interested I can pass on contact details for my mate that dows the camper interiours.
7. Wheel Spacers - Another one for Gregster when his mate has a slightly more sensible work load

8. Diff Breathers - Megafronty, do you think this is somthing you'd be able to sort for us????
9. Body lift spacers - Already in production by Yaki
10. Suspension Spacers - Already in production by myself (nylon ones) and Weave (metal spacers) from time to time.
11. Snorkel - Possibility of importing from Poland but also what do you think about the shaped stainless steel tube idea as well????
12. Tublar Manifolds - already in production by Wizrdovoz

What about spot light bars ? Somthing that mounts further forward than the usual bar accross the roof rails. Similar to what would be found on a lot of Discovery's & Defenders. Fitting would involve drilling the roof to mount and dropping the headlining to fit so how would you feel about doing that to your motor ? Worth considering or would you rather stick with the bar accross the roof rails set up?????

What about a shaped fibreglass bonnet light pod like Bowler Tomcats have...now that would be cool

If we can make a plug theres a fella up the workshop who will make me a mould...and my mate Rob makes bits out of carbon fibre and fibreglass so is good at laying up...so if members are interested then it might be possible...
shouldnt have suggested this as might also have a word with him about sport rear arches for lwb A's rears...

I would be very interested in the ARB disconnects and the bonnet pod

How about dislocation cones for the rear coil springs - now Steve (2much) as showed us how to dislocate the springs

Front bull bar extensions for when a body lift happens some extensions for the bars to come up level to sit where they were

I would love some one to do my body lift :oops:

And also would like rock sliders for a B model LWB ,with jacking points :lol:

I think going on the amount of fronties with Knackered diffs out there it would be a very good idea if we could get all the spares we require as is in the case of Green Ovals..Complete parts readily available for them but for fronties Noo Chance unless you settle with the extorsionate vx prices.

Body panels sound like a good bet (aftermarket)

Nylon suspension bushes would be another popular choice ( full sets )

Modded Bumper brackets (back & front)

Hmmm body panels...I tell you what a pre-pressed section of sill profile might be doable and useful...

How about making an approach to QUAIFE engineering in 7/oaks for the LSD's...I was informed they would consider these if quantities were high enough so it mite be worth looking into. it'll save us the aggro of having to scour the universe...lol.. I'm not sure of there set up but i guess they would do the open diff replacements & rebuilds as well if demand was high enough

i think front axel or diff drop brackets would be a good part to make up , obviously your front diff would have to be taken to the fabricater for welding, or would it be possible to make bolt on ones for DIY.........pete

We've used Gripper Diffs in the past for our rally car builds - not sure if they're 4x4 tough though.

I too would like a lamp pod on the bonnet

Other items on the wish list/ideas...

Dropped front diff
Replacement front winch bumper - current one is a bit tatty and needs remounting
Replacement steel fuel tank - current one has leaks (should be able to get one made at work)
Rear winch - fited between chassis rails
2nd battery tray
Bucket seat brackets - should be able to get these sorted at work
Hi-Lift bracket for spare wheel
Internal spare wheel holder.
Cup holder

I'll probably think of some more later
