I never had that problem, you must have disturbed the MAF or had a leak?

Ahha, mine was a 20l, just spotted yours is a 2.2, still think it will be MAF related though.

There is an oval shaped grommet in the firewall/bulkhead its likely its missing or not seated correctly and leaked through there :wink:

Or the water has come up through the gear stick gaiter and leaked into the footwell.

The problem with 'induction kits' on these engines (in the Astra's anyway) is that they run quite hot.. so you're raising the temperature of the air entering the engine which can make it run a bit... crapper

As domino said you do need a good cold air feed.

Sounds like the water has entered the grill below the windscreen and your vent was set to open...whoops :lol:

well i got to thinking if i got a secondhand K&N induction kit

could i convert the airbox it so that it fits inside the airbox and drill lots of holes in the lid to allow more airflow

this way i could leave the snorkel on and hopefully the K&N will suck in more air

would it work?

ps vortex will be removed today

Point less having a cone filter and a snorkel if you do that plus the airbox needs to be airtight, you can get a k&n panel filter and fit that into the airbox then seal the airbox up with sealant and use a snorkel, thats the way to go snorkel wise.

well i don't drive the truck every day so its been standing since wednesday night got in it this morning and it ran like a total pig so i realised that when the vortex was fitted engine was warm but was stone cold this morning so took airintake pipe off and have removed the vortex and will refit the pipe when i go home looked at airbox and my idea wold not work so think the panel filter will be the way to go

well i have learnt the hard way
