Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!Good idea regarding a cardboard template,it may also be a good idea to cut the good leg off the old bars & offer it up to the new to check the forward throw is the same

Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!Putting straight bits on is easier than taking bent bits off, you`ll be all right
Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!New bolts+nuts for bumper/valance unit = £1.84 for 4 from CES Northwich.
Bolts for bullbars had to be ordered from local stealers @ £1.25 each+vat Couldn't find anywhere local that could match up old bolts ( fine thread) No work done on car today, just sourced bolts! Nothing tomorrow either. Hopefully, my brother can lend a hand on Sunday putting bumper/valance and grill on. Will have to wait until Tuesday for the bolts for bullbars. Plenty of time to make up templates as they came off a LWB and might not fit properly without fettling. Noli Illegitimi Carborundum

Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!Thanks for posting all this. I changed the rear bumper on mine two yrs ago and these pics remind me of it with all the bolts shearing off.I cant remember what the threads are but they might be metric fine.
I had trouble with one tightening one nut up deep inside the chassis and ended up by welding a nut onto the end of a bit of bar and just left it like that in the chassis with the new bolt bolting the bumper on through it. Maybe that is what the mysterious knocking noise is!
Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!I wish you hadn't mentioned "mysterious knocking noise"
I've got to find out where mine is coming from on the 2.4 when I've rebuilt the sport! Noli Illegitimi Carborundum
Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!Nearly there!!!
I now need to find either:- Large washers or BIGGER BOLTS for the bumper mountings. At least I know that all the lights work If everything goes to plan, I should be able to make the bullbars fit somehow on Tuesday. Then I can mount the number plate, foglights and finally get the spots on. It doesn't look too bad now! Amazing what a difference the grill and bumper makes aint it Just a bit more dent pulling and It'll be done. You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post. Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!Cheers bud!
Got some big washers today, getting new bolts for bullbars tomorrow. All I have to do then is, try and make the bullbars fit! Once they are on, I can fit the fogs and spots on. ![]() Noli Illegitimi Carborundum
Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!well if all else fails my bullbars aren't currently attached to my truck so you could use 'em for comparison

Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!I might take you up on that
Doing a comparison with mine could be tricky My old ones are a bit mangled If I remember, I will take a piccy of them tomorrow! Noli Illegitimi Carborundum
Re: Spanner Party Needed!!!Old bars are way too mangled to do a comparison, plus, mounting brackets on the LWB ones are quite a bit wider than the SWB ones.
Way too cold to be messing about with them. Am after a swap now for a set of bars that will fit straight on. Anybody Noli Illegitimi Carborundum
