Re: do you agree with the strikehoyer could put other drivers on the petrol contract as long as they have haspac licence
but would they get out of the depot if its being picketed plus i think it would escalate into a nation wide strike involving all tanker drivers perhaps shell dont mind as its putting the price of fuel up thus increasing there profits when the strike ends
Re: do you agree with the strikeWe should all support a workers right to strike for improving T&C

Re: do you agree with the strikeno i think the drivers have a very good wage ,to me it is just greed , i wish i could just earn their basic wage £32000. that is a very good living ,
Re: do you agree with the strikeHiya Gang,
Forgive me for adding my two penneth worth but i will. Its my understanding that the highest figure quoted in settlement is £41000 but you should rememder that that includes average overtime payments ie non contractual. Therefore these lads and lasses are looking for an increase in their basic salary not some hope and a prayer and therefore anything they negotiate should be for selling their labour not for their labour and a hope and a promise. I agree with them in improving their basic because as a trade unionist overtime shouldnt exist because whilst it does it removes the chance of another lad or lass being in full employment. Further more, how many of us would be keen to drive 30.000 litres of high octane unleaded about on the uk roads with some of the muppets about that we all see on a day to day basis?? I shall get off my soap box and return to my drink. I also might need to get my coat!!! Skywalker

Re: do you agree with the strikehhhmmm, TBH, Like I say if you don't like it, sod off somewhere else.... Typical of unions though, "I'm getting paid, so why should I go to work" attitude!!
Like I said.. if you don't like the pay, sod off and find something else! There wouldn't be any issue of pay if more people took that approach! Employers would pay well because folks would vote with their feet, not hide behind some pathetic Union that jumps up and down and shouts lots to the papers and media about the evils of a company! "Overtime shouldn't exist".. That comment really bleep me off! WTF?!?! You mean you can't be arsed to work overtime, so therefor no-one else gets the opportunity! What a completly stupid remark! TBH, if no-one else wants to do the work, I'll do do it so long as I get paid - really I don't give a toss' if someone else doesn't get the work.. I hope no-one puts their wages up. They are lazy, and greedy! Striking I'm ok with, but not for more money... Good grief! And really their angle of "its dangerous" is b*llshit! Go out to Irag and drive a tanker out there.. thats Dangerous, and those poor sods get paid half what these lazy greedy strikers do! Infact I hope hoyers fires the lot of them! Greedy sods! Re: do you agree with the strikeHere goes
The company I work for pays me very well, the best I've ever earned. I am offered overtime in order to help ensure our customers get their equipment on time. They wouldnt employ more people to do it because the cost of extra employees far outway the cost of a few hours overtime, even at my penalty rates. I have worked extra hours all my working life in order to improve my take home pay by learning my job and being prepared to give back to the company some of my own time. The idea that this somehow harms the rest of the workforce is ridiculous. If the tanker drivers think they deserve better pay then they have the right to ask for it. MP's dont ask for theirs they just take it from us in extra taxes! Hence some of the price of fuel! The issue is do they, the tanker drivers, deserve more money because Shell make so much!? I dont think thats a good argument and they will lose public support because of it. If their work load was being increased for the same money then they would get more support. Shell will need the money they make to invest in more exploration as the reserves of oil dry up! End of rant "metallic brown" 2.2eco LWB "A"1999 & Black 2.2DTi LWB "B"2003

Re: do you agree with the strikeI think the point is, people should be paid enough not to have to depend on over time for survival .
At one time overtime was considered a bonus and paid for life little extras. With my Admin hat on could folk refrain from swearing, Im sure there are a lot of words in the English language to be used to make a point Ste
