buying a 2.0 8V frontera sport 1996, PICS ADDED!!!

Looks very tidy but still wouldn't pay more than £250 cause it's a non runner and no mot if it's as tidy inside and out and you can do the work get it snapped up at the right price. but don't get carried away thats my advice. there was one in the local paper 12 months mot not bad condition £1250 the other night. so if he will take £250 you got a bargin.

well this morning i spent a couple of hours taking the head off of her!

most of the damage was on cyl no 4! i could tell before the head came off as the spark plug was seized and was coated in water!, where i had her running yest to get her on the drive it pressurised the cooling system and over night the pressure has forced the coolant into this cyl!

off to get it machined tomorrow morning, will get more pics up as i go along!

BTW is there a "Build up" section to this forum? if so would i be better off posting up progress pics there?

ok, just a little update as iv not been here for a while! (gf and i split up so having to move out and sort the house etc)

got the head back on the truck, got myself a new lucas alternator for the bargain price of 60 quid!! so its all running nicely

got the mot done, few minor failures, one i knew about anyway!

n/s/f lower ball joint excessive play (knew about that one)
n/s/r and o/s/r metal brake pipes excessivly corroded (peice of cake to change!)
n/s/f brake flexi hose ferrels excessive corrosion!

thats it! all in all its going to owe me less than 400 quid on the road!
il service it after iv run it for a few weeks, then its play time!

very impressed with the condition of her considering the age!

will get some updated pics of it when she is all cleaned up (not for long hehehe) :mrgreen:
