Fitted a set of 4 insa turbo dakar's 265/75/16

Ive had a set of them, rather nice tyre :wink:

Started on today and working over most of weekend.

Throttle body and inlet manifold off for a jolly good clean, replace throttle body and manifold gaskets
may even take out the injectors and have them ultrasonic cleaned, whilst out I will see if there any aftermarket jobby's that I can fit.

New fuel filter to fit

Cooling system flush and new antifreeze, replace clips on pipes with nice shiny new ones

Remove cam cover replace gasket and spray cam cover,

Not today, but yesterday seeing as the Fronty now has an 80mm body lift, I relocated the fuel tank 80mm higher :dance:

Bought another tank carrier as mine was more iron oxide than iron, cut off the mounting brackets, jacked the tank carrier up as far as it would go and re-welded the brackets back on. Then wire brushed it clean and painted it black.

Did a few tidy up jobs after the body lift, new vac hose for the servo, power steering pipes and bottom rad hose lengthened as they were all a little on the short side :wink:

And today I replaced the timing belt on Dave Raynets 2.0 SWB

Well today i removed and fitted the new axle with massive help from Jason

Was going to refit gearbox but as the weather was wet i deiced to fit it next weekend as i am working for the next 7 days

Hopefully have it moving next weekend

sat there looking at her, and wondered how much she is worth, and is it all worth it, then i did go and take the antara for a test drive, and fell in love with it

Went to give Tessie her service today(even if the weather was against me :lol:

new air filter and fuel filter fitted,went to start engine to warm it up to make oil easier to drain and she wont start

the engine will turn over with a nasty metallic squeal comming from the top of the engine.
Looks like i will be working on Tessie again tomorrow.

Tweaked the gear lever and transfer lever and tested them out, still not quite right so tweaked them lots more and they are better but I'm not totally happy with them :roll:

BUT

Seeing as I'm off laning in the morning it will do for now :wink:

Today I have replaced the fuel filter and sparkie plugs, now I no longer have a "flat/dull" spot between 2krpm and 2750rpm

also flushed the oil and replaced the filter...

replaced the missing sunroof trim, and replaced the melted lower light lenses.

oh one more thing...

replaced the cracked air box lid and flexie pipe (that may have helped with the dull/flat spot I had)

and a couple of other little bits and bobs that I kept on meaning to do, but never got around to.
