Drove it. And after sorting a stuck front calliper found out it needs new front pads

The day started off with me deciding to tidy the shed out, it then got slightly rearranged when someone decided that she was going to go get some firewood with the trailer and I was 'invited' to attend along with said trailor, the truck and mr chainsaw... :shock:

I then spent the rest of the day cutting up the contents of the trailor and filling the wood store :roll:

Finally, after tea I managed to get away to tidy up the shed, 20 mins in and I've found an old 2.8 diff cover hiding under the bench... fast getting bored with the tidy up I got the grinder out and cleaned up the cover, made a patch to go over the hole and having dug the mig out welded it on. The covers now sat on the bench all cleaned up and sporting a nice new shiny coat of black hammerite and NO HOLES

Tommorrow, if the 'boss' allows I will finish doing the shed... :lol:

Started removing items from the 2.8
Battery , bull bars, front bumper, front indicators,Radiator, Alternator , intercooler, turbo pipes, turbo, primer diesel pump.

Today I'm going to try and remove the gearbox and flywheel

Today I had nice and shiny cam belt, pulleys' and water pump fitted along with 4 new General Grabber AT2's.
It was all going great till the truck decided it wanted even more( even after spending a crap load of money on it) and decided to blow the head gasket and the exhaust manifold is blowing on start up. There is going to be tears before bedtime tonight I can tell you.
So far I have done less that 200 miles in this truck. Feeling really feed up with it today :cry:

Thats the problem i got too!!!!! So i bought another one!

Yesterday fitted new water pump before work and today topped up with clean water and antifreeze and bled through then drove to work all ok.

Haven't done it yet but when I get outside I'll redo all the vac pipes.and maybe give it another clean, while deciding to do the heater matrix before or after Christmas.

Fitted my new shocks n spacers to get my 4" lift and then i fitted my modified tank guard, which was a complete ball ache. So
almost ready for wales on the 28th now :thumbup:

had all 4 wheels off the ground trying to find a strange noise... still cant locate it :evil:

but it isnt the wheel bearings etc so all good

and now getting it ready for the 2nd tranfer box

Changed the primer fuel pump on my trooper and no joy, must be a leak or blockage somewhere...... :cry:

so i can have even lower gear for crawling...

and another reason is im boored... so it gets modded more

You'll need crawler gear to get that HGV Fontera moving the way youre going.

.......and re-badge it as a Front-Antar.

Fitted new clocks to see if it was the fuel sender playing up or the gauge and it was the gauge!!!!!

Now i know how much fuel is in him!!!!
Oh also put new bolts in the steering column to stop the free play!

Swapped the plugs out and now pondering the oil in the spark plug bore!

Had to treat it to a new battery cos mine had given up :roll:

Atleast i got i nice discount from Minorfern £54 later and it lives again :thumbup:

i thought that was cheap for 2.5tds battery.

Once again what should be a walk in the park ends up with nothing more than broken tools, raised blood pressure and a huge amount of verbal diarrhea. Took almost 3 hours to not manage to push back one of the front calipers. Then at the end when the piston just wasn't going back any more (I know this because I sheared the rewind tool off with the breaker bar) it still wouldn't fit over the new pads. Might take it to a garage and just pay then to do it... I know, I know but that's what it's driving me to

or just buy a carva clamp and let that do all the hard work.... dan

but if it is that hard it may need a new caliper
