WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

After changing my flywheel and clutch last month and fitting a cheep replacement crank seal, badly which leaked straight away I finally got round to taking the box off again and fitting the propper seal. Many thanks to Trugga for his help and assistance, I would not of managed without you mate.
The truck is almost ready for its MOT just a new spring to fit when it arrives.

Changed oil and filter in the ol' girl today and fitted a new fuel filter as well. She sounds happy now.

Next up, front wheel bearings, ball joints, and new custom exhaust. Looks like my next available weekend is booked up.

O-no

Bodged the naughty AC Evaporator drain that was dripping all over the carpet with a short length of aquarium hose and a couple of hose connectors robbed from chips & uglys (2 geriatric goldfish, acquired from the fair about 10 years ago) old filter unit.

Worry not, they now have a shiny new filter unit and are swimming around like a pair of, well goldfish lol... They also share the tank with 'lucky'... one of the cats got it from someones pond, brought it home and 'left' it on the carpet as a pressy... It's tail flapped when we we found it in the morning so in the tank it went, bit chewed lol... bt it got over that and has been swimming around ever since, hence the name.

Unlucky, on the other hand sadly didnt make it. Theres no coming back when the heads there, the tails there but the bit in the middle's in the cat

Truck

I managed to get a set of seats the other day, so Ive now swapped out the old nacked drivers seat and replaced it with a nice new(ish) seat made up from a decent cushion section and the even better seat back from the passenger seat.

Used it instead of the ladders.

just about fitted under the door. derigging the light and power for the 2013 fuse festival at lichfield.

Fitted recon Turbo and hoses, cleaned the inside of the inlet manifold, and flushed out the intercooler, engine now pulls much better.

Just washed it, and ordered some new goodies for it

Discovered why the new Bighorn had a flat tyre this morning. The valve fell into the tyre :shock:

Dunno quite how that happened but its in there. I can here it rattling around

As I had some free time today I gave the back of the car another coat of lacquer.
Then tried out a bit of airbrushing ( this was my first time at airbrushing )

Yesterday at Bobbys BBQ we fitted my new perfect fuel tank guard :thumbup:

And today I fitted one vx rock slider but had to take them off again as my 4" suspension lift is too high for them and the snag on full droop at the trailing arm, they can be fabbed to fit but I am now selling them in the for sale section as I just dont have the inkling to cut and weld

Stripped all the brake calipers of the blue one, had just replaced the front pads before I broke it so will keep the pads for mine. Going to fit all the rear discs, pads, hand brake shoes and cables onto mine as my rear are shot along with a warped disc (been like that since I've had it). Just need to see what else to take off before sending it off to the recycling centre.

Fantastic fun, but actually harder than I thought it would be - still managed some good sideways action though. Damn it was quick :shock:

That was the morning. Then, after a sunny lunch time BBQ, I was visited by Total Off Road editor and photographer Alan Kidd:

We spent a very entertaining 4+ hours chatting about the 4x4 scene, motorsport and photography - and combined that with a photo shoot of the little blue bug. Can you imaging me drifting the Frontera at speed ? and doing donuts ? and trying to "get air" over a yump ? (we also did the uppy/downy slow articulation stuff as well) - the photos on the back of Alan's camera looked pretty good.

...but once he'd had a ride in each rally car (except the Lotus Elise - it was a tight fit), he left us to play - Top Man.

The Frontera was also used properly - it recovered two stranded cars back to the paddock, and at the end of the day winched the huge tree trunks back into place to block the venue entrance.

A cracking day out with my motorsport chums, top down, sunshine and a safe drive home.

Yesterday: Fitted all new ball joints and front wheel bearings. Noticed on my test run that the O/S front brake was dragging really bad (VERY hot after the drive), so...
Today: Took apart the front brakes and noticed the brake pads on the one side had bound up and wouldn't release. Managed to get them out, filed them down to fit better and copper greased them. The beast rolls on for miles in neutral now! Feels better than it did the day I bought it. Now, all I have is the exhaust to do up, then I'm (mostly) caught up on the list of all things Fronty. :dance:

Tonight after work I got my uncle to give me a lift up to flitwick so I could pick up my new swb 2.0 niagara on a P plate only paid £350 for her tax runs out this month and mot until 17th September.
It has a couple of issues
1 drivers window falls out of the plastic clips
2 needs a new battery ( I already have a couple in the garage

)
3 the heater switch don't work ( I have a blower resistor in the garage )
4 the fan doesn't cut in until it hits the red so it's running a bit hot
5 a small rust hole in one of the sills
6 it has the three spoke wheel :lol:

I bought this one because I've done a lot of work on the 2.8 lwb so don't want to take it off road
This swb will stay as a sport and has t&t plus insured so this is going to be my road legal off roader.

As i had the day off work I spent some time on new swb
1 Fixed the heater blower by replacing the resistor

2 put a override switch on the radiator fan. It now sits at the half way mark. I'll do a permanent fix when I have more time to do it.
3 Replaced the dash clock
4 put a new battery on
5 fixed the drivers window
