Having had the alternator tensioner disintegrate at the start of the week, I left it at the garage to have a shiny new one fitted whilst I was away, picked it up and got home, opened the bonnet to inspect the repair and the stupid bonnet catch spring broke, did a botch repair then a trip to the scrappy to grab a much less rusty entire bonnet catch and cable.

Today I replaced the rear shocks.
Because I think the old one were past their best :lol:

as you can see I could push them down with one finger and they stayed down

Just went and got the tracking done then went on a test drive at last the car is sorted. It will now sit in a straight line at 50 and all the way to @#mph :lol:

dun all the jobs for mot so will take for re test tomoro

Did my annual bargaining with the AA, renewal was quoted at £175 :lol:

Called them up and get it for the new user cost £109 and kept all of our gold card benefits plus key cover and euro travel :lol:

That is for me and the Mrs with Relay and Roadside.

Well done Ste - didnt ever think about bargaining with AA, presumed they'd give the best deal to its lon term members :roll:

I think my renewal for me and missus, gold member etc etc was £190!!!!

Go to option that says your thinking of leaving and within a second they will price match it :lol:

Plus RAC is only £110 but they don't have the gold benefits (don't mention RAC unless they refuse or get funny)

A few months ago I wasin a shopping mall and spoke to the AA bloke, "give us a call when your renewals due, I'll see what deal I can put together for you". Seems like they are keen for customers.

To the Fronty, well, I washed it.
Took the truck on a reasonable run and climbed a 1:5 gradient in warm temperatures - it behaved brilliantly. It's running a lot free-er now the seized brake caliper has been replaced.

Sussed out another couple of rattles and vibration issues, the hose behind the wing to the snorkel was vibrating against the inner wing, sorted, refitted parcel shelf more securely, sorted now only about 300 other 2.8 noises to sort :lol:

Oh and banged a couple more stickers on......straight :oops:

Fitted my hilift to the roof rack. Now to sort out jacking points for it :roll:

Sorted the washer of the rear window - water was pressed through a ventile and not through the tube. Put out the ventile and replaced it by a simple metal pipe from a stethoskope. Now it works again.

Few days ago I mounted the rerplacement foldable roof (Co. Kühn, Germany) to our Greenstripe.

Fineraly got around to cleaning it....the pile of mud that came off the winch tray along....never mind the rad and intercooler lol. Doesnt look any less sad tho

Bought the Trooper a 20L jerry can of unleaded

to soak the seats in and set fire to it if another thing breaks on it this week :evil:

Getting seriously p1$$3d off with it at the moment.

Today I sprayed the back end of the car to match the front end colour

Not a bad job even if I do say so myself
