WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Any idea how long the water leak in the road had been there and if the water company (or who ever owns the pipe) had been informed of the leak. Assuming it has been reported, and allowing for a 'reasonable' period of time for them to organise a contractor to carry out the repair works and inform the highways agency (or local authority) that they wanted the road up you may have a case against them for not carrying out the works and thereby due to THEIR wilful negligence in failing to carry out either a reasonable repair or putting in place a road diversion you ended up having an accident.

Get photos and speak to a brief, you never know. Oh and NEVER admit to being at fault, even if your vehicle is the only one and you managed to hit that tree in the middle of Suffield training area!

Leak has been there for about 3 weeks. Has been sprayed up with Blue paint for the repair, so the council know about it, but have not done anything as yet.

It is in a dangerous spot as has an ajoining slip road on a blind bend, before joining a major A road orbital, so there must have been a few bumps there the past few weeks.

I have pic`s of the leak and its in the middle of the road. You would expect them to act quicker as could be eroding a hole underneath just waiting for the right vehicle to land in it. If we have any freezing weather then it would become a skating rink.

No warning signs, diversions nothing has been put in place.

There are also no notifications of any impending works there.

I will give the council a ring tomorrow and find out whats happening with the leak, first, and then see what they have to say. My insurance company were not to intrestred in raising an issue with the council, but there is no harm in trying.

Cleaned it... Amazingly it did not fall apart once all the mud n muck was washed off :lol:

Now need to go get it muddy again...

Went to change my rear bumper and the first bolt sheard off so i gave up!!! :evil:

Good positive attitude Bobby. Man needs to know his limitations. :rotfl:

Finished welding up my sliders, it was only putting a curved end cap at the rear of each slider. Just need to tidy up some of the welds and they can be painted and fitted

Not to my truck but!!!!! :cry:

Now thats all done i'll start on mine when i get 10minutes. :thumbup:

Got my sub box fitted yesterday morning,after it has been laying in my loft:- :lol:

today the winch was fitted, it took best part of the afternoon to get it in and the grinder did come one..

last weekend i put a new battrey in, since my old one was dieing :evil:

and the new battrey vs the old one

the new one was only £96 and is a nice 100Ah one :dance:

just have to weld another bar back on the bullbar so it is all in nice and safe. and work out where to put the winch electrics

O-no ... Temp (ish) weld up jobby on the exhaust, the short pipe coming out of the back box fell off the other day, so me being a tight git decided to weld it back on vs replacement. What a bone idea that was lol....

Well, after some thought the method was worked out. Simples really, a nice bit of flat sheet... drill a gert big hole in it thats slightly smaller in dia than the exhaust pipe (going well so far, this was easy) then preen out the edges of the hole to allow the pipe to fit and give me something easier to weld too. This was then fitted to the pipe and welded round. The pipe was also preened where it came through the flat sheet to make a nice strong and clean finish. Easy peasy so far and took about 15 mins to do last night in the shed.

The fun bit was this morning... Grinding off the pipe stub left behind and cleaning up the end of the box (incl removing the galv finish) so I could weld the sheet on with the pipe in it. Then offer up and seam weld round the edges of the sheet to the end of the box having lined everything up... simples one would think...

Grinder, not much space... working upside down and getting covered in .... deep joy!
Lining it all up and getting it ready to tack in place.... quickly realised NOT having three hands and very bendy arms was a proper disadvantage!
Welding it... Ha ha... all I'll say on that is weld splatter hurts like .... well it just hurts when it drops down yer sleeve and theres no room to shake it out :shock:

Its on, no denying that but the welding could hardly be described as pretty... In fact it's probably only staying place cos I threw nearly half a roll of wire at it as I was welding blindly and trying to follow the edge of the material...

Doing well at this stage, well sort off... then a wee voice (

) hollers out the door.... 'Aint you done that yet' .... we got to be at .... in 20 mins.... (it was 30 mins away) :axe:

Last night. Adjusted the front wheel bearings and fitted new pads on the front brakes. It was planed for the weekend but have to work sat and Sunday and of to wales for a wedding next weekend.

Fitted the rear light guards onto Kaz.

this morning i changed my muds to my at/r wheels and tyres..
they look sooo small....

Removed the knackered exhaust from Kaz. To say its past its best is an understatement.

Cleared the side off the house and moved the shed. Went to move the swb to the side of the house so it's out the way. Now this car hasn't been started since the 8th April put the key in and it started straight away.

What does that tell ya Andy!!!!!! :thumbup:
