And now in the process of bodging the two big holes in my bonnet with chemical metal as I have no filler :lol:

then paint the bonnet lip black (after 24 hours for the chem metal to cure :roll:

as well yesterday i was driving down the a41 and the clutch fell to the floor :oh yer:

and when i stoped i found that the bolt holding the clutch pedal on had came out. so 5 mins later all done and was off again

Changed the front O/S wheel bearing on O-no, just got the other one to do, then the water pump & cam belt and I reckon it will be just about ready for Avalanche.

Drove it round some great lanes and did over 400miles in it and really suprised myself at how good it can be on fuel :thumbup:

Τoday I changed the oil, oil filter [ could not find the small o ring when removed the old one any way], fuel filter [thank you all for the how to quide], replaced the aux belt , same here how to , and finally swapped the winter tyres for the summer ones. busy day today

Bought some steel last week to make some tree sliders, today I cut the box section to length, angled the ends and made the 6 mounting plates for the chassis

Would you take photo's bud so we can see the job in progress??

today i wired in 6 spot lights, and more on the way..
wired in the cb radio, but need to find some one close with one to make sure it is working
primed and painted a few patched on the body work.
filled in some bits of the body work.

Cleaned out the threaded inserts in the chassis where the steps would be fitted just to make sure the bolts go in OK as they have been exposed to the elements for a few years. Trial fitted the new mounting plates for the tree sliders just to make sure I didn't balls up with the measurements

Ah, also picked up some stickers after seeing this on the back of a modded Montery

'Torque Flung Dirt Technique'

Over the past few days I have...
- removed broken intercooler

- fitted a new aftermarket intercooler

- fitted new roof rack with 4 spots

- wired them in to work on the flashers/main beam

- fitted a new cb ariel mount on the new roof rack so I don't have a magmount any more :roll:

- oil and filter change
- fuel filter change
- lifted the front bumper and a frame for the body lift :thumbup:

All I need to do now is reconfigure the 5 foot ariel to get a lower swr reading (think it needs to go smaller) and to find someone to check reception and transmission with. :mrgreen:

Don't forget that roof lights are not legal for road use, so to keep on the right side of the law you'll need to wire them with a switch so they remain off if you use full beam on the road.

As I'm on nights i took advantage of the good weather. So today I refitted the bash plates, fitted the new seats, done 2in suspension lift, put the road wheels back on ready for the annual and ordered some shims coz the wheels look like this \---/

today i went and picked up a few bits
new c20 clutch kit
new front brake pads for a leafer
new rear brake shoes
new oil pump
new cam belt
new rocker cover gasket
new bottom end gasket set
fuel pump for a x20

so i need to work out what will fit on mine and what wont...
but i will have an x20 fuel pump for sale...
