well yesterday really.

got my sill welded up and undercoated cost £30 (was quoted £25 but that was just a visual quote, once it had been cleaned up the metal termites had been quite hungry so it was a bigger hole than expected) but it had to been done. re-fitted side step and put the checker plate back on.

Well its really the past few days but, i replaced the exhaust manifold as the old on had a lovely crack in it, replaced the discs and pads front and rear, repaired fuel tank strap, tightened the handbrake cable, fixed the rear number plate lamps, started sanding down bull bars ready for another coat of hammerite, i then gave it a pre MOT inspection which i obviously didnt do very well as i stuck it in for mot yesterday which it failed :evil:

(the MOT tester was not my favorite person that day :axe:

) on wheel bearings, passenger side headlamp being really loose, literally every brake pipe on the truck and literally every brake hose on it as well. so it stayed in for repair and i got it back this morning with a fresh 12 months MOT and a juicy bill for £400. the bloody thing owes me £800 quid this past week....bloody cars....never mind

Change rear brake pads, had a stuck and rounded slider to contend with, worked around it, its still stuck and rounded but working :lol:

Changed clutch fluid as that hasnt been done for nearly 4 years :oops:

checked tyre pressures and thats about it

Well I was sat on the A5 at Cannock on a round about when my clutch pedal went to the floor :shock:

I thought NNNNOOOOOO not 2 in 2 weeks.

Started in 1st and ran around the corner without clutch and the 2.8 was even easier to change gear than the 3.2 without a clutch. Lifted pedal, all seems fine, under bonnet all seems fine. Drove another 40 miles and all seems fine

fitted new clutch master cylinder and renewed fluid, and changed gearbox and tranny oil and that was enough for today :wink:

Sanded down my sump guards and did bodywork repair and prep ready for painting, re-trimmed interior roof in black seude.

Suede even. :oops:

Rebuilt the rear prop on the chevy/brava fing, replaced all 3 UJ's (2 were knackered) and changed the centrebearing.
Easy enough to do but centre bearing was a bit of a swine to get off, ended up cutting the outer race away with a grinder, and then getting in with a drifty and sensible hammer to remove the inner race from the shaft.
No horrible clunking now...and drives much nicer, drivetrain seems more possitive (or I might be imagining it!) :dance:

Also fitted the radio and cb aerials on some brackets we made up that secure to the load restraining bar behind the cab. Dont know where cB is going yet, might put a fronty centre console in under the dash as they have a nice hole for a cb, as the chevy console finishes under the radio,....(but it has got a centre console where the handbrake is one a fronty, bulkhead handbrake on this baby..) :oh yer:

Gave matt a hand for a while he attacked the "Mudrun" pond with a jcb backhoe...has a pukka V notch at one end now and an axle twister up one of the backs for some serious wheel in the air stuff...

Once before years ago my clutch didnt come back up, bled the system and renewed the fluid and all has been hunky dory ever since.

Changed front brake pads as the others was low and had been ruined by buildwas mud
changed fan belt as it was squealing and got worse after buildwas mud
changed power steering belt as i had to take it of to do fan belt so thought might as well
took radiator off as it was over heating due to being clogged with buildwas mud
cleaned intercooler of buildwas mud

Now the £10,000 question can anyony guess where i was the week before :lol:

9.30 pm centre of dunstable waiting to turn at lights ....see a gap....foot hard down...nice 360 and off we went....the look on peoples faces :shock:

was brill the down side was the smell from my pants!!! :oops:
