Started it for the first time in a week, ingnition on and left it until the glow plug relay kicked out and we fired up first turn of the key, result.

Finally back on the stock alloys got a set of 235/70 or was it 75 lol cant mind but they on 235s anyway . I have tried 255s 245s and could not get full lockwas on 225s an they brought the revs down to 2800 at 70 mph on the 215s i was getting that at 60

Made the Truck WORK for a change today!

Got a distress call from a local English ex-pat, who's Trooper 3.0 Citation had just emptied 5 litres of oil on the road

Took the Fronty out with towing bar, oil, and toolbox at the ready.

Looked underneath, and yup, it was a real slick under there. Couldn't identify exact point of leakage, due to all the bash plates,
but figured it could be the notorious oil pump 'O' rings or something.

Hitched it up to my Fronty, and dragged the poor thing to the local garage, thankfully only a couple of k back.

Left him there with another guy as a lift home, and reflected on the first proper work that my Fronty had done. Heavy old truck
that Trooper

and no doubt a heavy old bill heading his way!

I gave mine a pat on the dash top on the way home!, is that wrong?

Bleeding 3.0 (4JX1) Isuzu engines. Liability to the name they are/were :oops:

Not heard of one dropping its oil though. Gaining oil as the seals in the common rail lets the diesel into the sump.

Replaced my air filter for a pipercross one

It's now got power

Couldn't have helped that the old filter was full of mud :oops:

At least ts good now

Got O-no through it's MOT re-test :thumbup:

Now got a 12 month ticket on that one.

Truck oon the other hand was MOT'd in Dec and will be getting another test around July to get the MOT test away from Dec, too b****y cold to be doing things like ball joints etc in Dec :lol:

OOOOOOOOhhh yer baby that felt good, turned her on and took her for a weekly spin around the back lanes just to keep her fluids moving :wink:

Last night at about 3.30am I finally got the dam'd oil filter off...in the end I had to use a long extension as a chisel and a lump hammer to whack the hell out of it until it started to turn. Not much left of it now lol. But it has a nice shine one in its place, done up hand tight.

You did smear oil on the filter o'ring didn't you Dan. If not that is usually why they jam on.

As for me I drove her to bobbinsjob's to put his new to him flywheel, new clutch assembly and old gearbox back on. It was a litle temperamental, but it gave in in the end.

Went laning week before last in the snow over the Wayfarer which was fun :lol:

Also went for a look at the Corwen Carwash , which was erm , very fast and very deep :shock:

I've also replaced the tensioner and today chopped a nice hole in my boot floor and unclogged my fuel pump ably assisted by Dave. Tar Lar :thumbup:

I've done it dozens of times, but I've never seen it that fast/deep before. Unfortunately my crappy pics don't do it justice

Thanks Neil n Andy. Really couldn't of done it without you both. Yes, after we got the props back on (gotta order new uj as one is siezed solid) we took her round the block. Considering she's stood in the garden since October, she started well and now the gear changes are smother than ever :-)
