Oil and Filter change today..
Nothing special just routine maintenance...

Kicked it when I saw the puddle of oil under the engine.

Fingers crossed it is just the rocker gasket which I have a spare of in the garage.

Got a new towing eye welded on mine today, well its more like a mooring for a boat :lol:

, real heavy duty, not that Im expecting to break down or anything, but I tend to go into stupid places when Im off road, origonal towing eye didnt look too good so thats the reason I got it changed,

You want OTT towing point? Have a shufti at what I have welded to the arse end of my truck, a pair of truck tie downs that are rated for a fair few tons :lol:

Took it through a local ford and filled it with water, the truck not the ford!

eventually fitted my cb

and ordered a pipercross air filter
and new wiper blades
even washed it :shock:

With the help from Ian ( bobbinsjob ) we finished the axle rebuild so after 3 days of replacing bits. I have a work truck again. with brakes that work Ian had abit of a moment when I tested the brakes. Doing about 20mph towards a fence I had faith in the work we done but Ian wasn't to sure :lol:

Pumped up the (*µù£££°) front left tyre and delivered a trailer of wood.
No point me posting here cos she just keeps going.

Not in this weather but.

come off the motor way temp in the red :roll:

no heaters checked water nice and full water pump died :evil:

nipped to genral traffic after it cooled down, £60 lighter on the way back "bang" lots of steam and rusty water fooking rad split at the bottom :evil:

so fitted new water pump went very well just need a rad for 2.3 td by sunday night :lolno:

Truck

Managed to wash the insides of the air vents, heater matrix, carpets, seats etc etc... tis now drying out. Sadly no fish.

O-no

Finished the welding, and promptly ran out of mig wire! Gonna give the patches a clean up and some paint on tommorrow. MOT next week me thinks.

Since Friday I have
Fitted bullbar
Replaced lamps in the switches they are now all working
Went searching scrap yards yesterday found one place with four fronteras in :lol:

Removed switches for spares and a few handy bits inc bumper lights all in good condition just got to do some tidying off bits before swapping and fitting too mine

been to 4 scrappys and no rad

5th time lucky got a almost new one for 30 quid fitted and whooo i have a car :mrgreen:

Sourced the oil leak. Not the rocker gasket. Changed it anyway.

looked underneath and saw this:

Oil drain from the alternator had rubbed against the steering box mount, and wore a hole. Pulled off the pipe, cleaned it and found this:

Had a rummage in the garage ... 10 mins later, ended up with this:

Anyways while I had the bonnet open I replaced a couple of fuel hose clips, and replaced the o'ring on the dipstick tube.

fitted a new starter and a modified inlet to allow the lpg conversion to take place.
fixed the cooling fan and replaced the top hose.

Did some man shopping....
10 litres of 15w40 mineral oil - £24
a oil filter - £6.99
5 litres of green :shock:

antifreeze - £15.74
and seeing as the chap gave me some discount some distilled water too

- £2.96
some rad flush - £4.04
a new oil catcher tray because I cant for the life of me find my old one.....shame because my old 1 was a container tyre oil catcher....the new 1 is just a cat litter type tray

means ill have to get creative with milk bottles to get rid of the old oil....or just paint the chassis with it lol. - £3.86

on the old girl....tomorrow evening is the fun part of actually putting the above to use, ill change my turbo over for my new to me turbo thats apparently only 6 months old.....well we'll see huh...but for £50 its gota be worth a try...plus anythings gota be better than whats on it atm lol.

Oh and walked away from dominos with a application form as a delivery driver....aha should be a laugh lol

dont you want semi synthetic oil? not mineral oil?

he got a 2.8 now

in was under the impression the 2.8 was semi as well....
may be wrong.... but it isnt the first time he would have gotten the wrong oil

Mineral can be used ... less leakage on older engines.

Went to garage to pre book for MOT.. at 9 this morning.. They Had a space there and then.. BY 10 my Fronty was all done will M O T pass.. only two advisory items.. nothing major. :lol:

can wait until better weather here.. Thats the way I like it..
