Fitted re-sealed fuel pump. Set up timing, fitted new glow plugs, adjusted tappets, and put everything back together again. Started on the button. Hopefully now I won't be spraying as much diesel on the road as was going in the engine.

Definitely quieter on idle.

I was going to fit the new
rear wiper blade but rain smtopped play.

Started on the cleaning up the O/S rear sill ready for patching, got a bit carried away with the grinder... Patch cut, but needs some trimming before it gets welded on.

Found out what's wrong with the truck. The rear prop has had it. The bottom uj has about 4mm play in it, so that explains that clunk/grinding sounds...but it also sounds like the rear brakes are binding slightly...can turn them by hand easily but doesn't sound nice. Luckily the truck came with a spare prop and I'll see what's wrong with the rear brakes and then try and stop myself setting fire to the f#%king thing

replacement prop fitted...truck is now back to its running state. Going to spend all day tomorrow trying to get the long list of things that need doing alittle shorter, namely the steering box. And maybe all the spare parts that have forces me to have the rear seats folded up might actually get fitted :shock:

You have enough spare parts that need fitting, that you have to have the seats folded? :wtf:

I know it only a SWB, but even so... You keeping a spare gearbox in the boot or something Dan?

lol not yet....Im hoping the one I have will last till I do eventually set fire to the dam thing lol. I have a spare tow bar, 2 radious arms, steering box, 3 tool boxes, a sizable subwoofer, trolly jack, a 2litre bottle of oil, a flattened cardbord box to lay on, a front offside brake calliper and probably some other things ive forgotten too lol. Purchased and fitted my new auxilary belt, had a temporary brain fart but soon remembered how it went back on...lol

oh and gave it a wash.

Having taken the N/S front hub off before Christmas, was about time I got some more done.

Stripped front hub and hub carrier, removed wheel bearings and needle roller bearing and cleaned all the old grease out, removed top and bottom ball joint and chucked them in the bin. Fitted new wheel bearings and needle roller bearing, refitted hub to carrier. Had a spot of bother getting the CV joint seal in the rear of the hub carrier so machined up a suitable drift and one clout with the hammer and it was in

Did take over an hour to make the drift as the lump of ally was way too big and had to turn loads off it but pretty sure it will come in handy for the drivers side :wink:

Final job of the day was to fit the new top and bottom ball joints.

Hoping to have a few hours on it tomorrow, still need to clean out the Aisin manual hubs, paint the new Rough Country shocks and have a rummage in the shed to see it I have a useable driveshaft. Then I just need to get it all fitted back on and start on the drivers side.

Oil and filter change on the troop. Took front bumper off to plan fitting the winch.

Fitted new brake pads all round, the old ones were completely shot and rubbing, took the new exhaust off the old car and the old exhaust off the new car, then put the new exhaust on the new car and most of the old exhaust back onto the old car. Took the best tyre off the old car for a spare. Removed the back windows, ECU, radiator and some other bits and bobs off before waving the old car off to the scrap yard.

Fitted new outlet hose to the turbo, ( noted increase in the amount of oil passing the oil seal)
adjusted steering box, adjusted auxiliary belts, and checked all levels, then pressure washed underneath.

NSF Wheel bearing replaced. Now she's all quiet....well, as quiet as a 16yr old Fronty gets. :lolno:

I just gotta un-seize the steering adjuster so that she drives in a straight line. :wtf:

Washed, hoovered and checked the Cherokee over ready for its MOT tomorrow

Got the steering box fitted...its shocking how much worse condition the parts on my p reg truck are than Andytats r reg truck...its like mines spend half its life in the sea and Andy's has just left the showroom. Tomorrow I'll start it up and get some new fluid in it and give it a test run, see if I can go down the road without looking like I'm driving a drift car lol - mine was like this expect I was trying to go straight
