Fitted me new springs today with guidance from Stuart (Fatbaz), jobs a goodun 2" suspension lift sorted.

Today I finished welding the rock/tree sliders now all I need to do is find some rocks or trees so I can try them out to see if my welding is any good :lol:

In total the rock sliders only cost me £10 for the tubing the rest of the metal I got for free so if they fall off the first time I use them then I'll only loose £5 per side lol

Sick to death of noise intrusion , wet carpets and draughts I decided I had to get rid of the crappy gearstick gaiter that is fitted to the A series.

I was speaking to Dave and Bri and Dave had sealed and put some self tappers around his A series gaiter and Bri had wedged old bits of woolly jumper around his :lol:

Wanting something a little more substantial I whipped the one out of the B series I am breaking and with a little modding, made it fit perfectly :dance:

Water ingress is pretty clear to see

As you can see the B series one is a much better design and bolts/screws to the transmission tunnel. So a bit of snipping / bending and it's in

No more draughts or leaks and much more importantly I can't hear the knackered tensioner bearing any more :lol:

Set about tightening my front hubs/bearings at work n there all done now, was really suprised how loose they were :shock:

Installed the new inside/outside temp gauge. It was so cold the temp was immediately heading towards zero, couple of hours later and
-6.8c was being displayed with -2c being displayed for the interior temp. It's definitely Baltic out there.

Well at 18.00 I realised it was Lee's birthday tomorrow :shock:

So having only the Fronty here I jumped into it and it was -2 inside on my temp gauge -1 outside :oops:

so I scraped the ice off the inside :oops:

(none on the outside) and shot off to Asda to get her a present (DAB Radio) and cards.

I hit the blower button and yup I was sitting in a snow globe again :evil:

Drove like a dream though when the inside ice melted and I could see where the road was :oops:

I got this bad boy a few years ago on ebay for a tenner, not seen one since though

It illuminates and has a wire to an outside sensor and also has audible ice warnings but they are annoying but can be turned off :thumbup:

Amazon was where I got mine from. Watch though as some do not have display illumination. The prices are usually in the 7 to 15 pounds range. I fix mine to the dashboard or console using self adhesive velcro to facilitate the annual battery replacement.

Have to say my 2.8lwb is super toasty since I changed the heater matrix, even have to turn down the heater sometimes now!

Haven't done anything to the truck today but I did have a big heavy bit of metal turn up today in the post.
This may help protect the diesel tank plus with this I can get rid of the ground anchor
cos the discovery only has a small thin bit of tin at the bottom.

I also have a couple of bits to fit on the back end.
Rear brake disc x2
Brake pads
Rear wheel bearings inner and outer x2

Does anyone want to give me a hand to fit this lot :?:
