I leaked a little more oil funny i thought moving here i would have more time to fix my trooper and bighorn but noooo im going here or have to do this blah blah

Turbo arrived at lunchtime (not bad, only ordered the thing on Wed and delivered Thur P&P was only £3.5) got home from work in go-kart and get set to on the truck.

Ripped old turbo out, gave it a shake and lumpy metal bits fell out! Think it's knacked. Fitted new turbo (yes, new... shiny, brand spankers new) did an oil change and took it for a test drive....

Smoke everywhere! it drove down the road smoking like an old coal fire :shock:

Hopefully it's the oil catchment rad in the front that emptying out and making smoke... Boost is a proper improvement

Gonna do another oil and filter change on Sat.

That will be oil and possibly water in the exhaust snapper. Mine did exactly the same thing when I changed my turbo.

Made a start on making some rock sliders with box section I got free from work :lol:

My welding is getting a lot better

Changed the pads on jnr's car coz she reported that it was making a funny noise when she braked :lol:

The other side wasn't quite as bad but the friction material had totally come away from the pad

£30 for two new discs and a set of pads. Wish Fronty's were that cheap :roll:

Ordered up the brake pads for both axles so as to satisfy the MOT advisory.

Pulled out the birds nest and replumped the inlet to fuel pump pressure pipe as it was falling apart - Im hoping that'l fix the lack of boost problem. Also while I was at it I fitted a boost gauge

Tomorrow I hope to get done:
Front bumper corner
Boot lock/handle
Alternator
Fit my DAB head unit
Tighten up front wheels bearings
Tighten up steering box
Maybe make and fit EGR blanking plate as the EGRs are still in place
And if I have time clean it

I have replaced the rear door card and fitted the muds and took the AT's off.
Oh and started it :lol:

Sorted insurance from leafer and got money back!! :dance:

Also picked up some 265/75/16 muds for her when i get an hour in the garage to fit the new springs, oh and i gota tax it :oh yer:

Nothing .... though I managed to get the fault codes cleared off the Passat and watched some live running data due to my £7.99 VAG-COM cable purchase. Very chuffed. That would of cost me £75 at Volkswagon :shock:

No idea Rob, but what gets me is how I'm here for morale support as well now & can't think of what's wrong with it either

Got fed up with being off work, so I,

Fixed my front spot lamps, again ( don't buy angeleye spots off ebay, they're cr@p)
New front number plate
wired my JVC head unit to an old 2 way aerial, so now I get more than 1 radio station

Replaced the two front speakers, so I can also hear all these extra radio stations
Fitted a new CB that i got cheap :shh:

Fitted a new CB aerial
Broke said CB aerial

Fixed said Cb aerial
Wired in a cigar lighter adapter/spliter thingy

Removed birds nest. Next up, install blanking plates that Ive recieved from Hound Dog today. Then a leaky water pump, timing belt and oil change.

I have replaced a few 2.8 alternators but that bottom bolt will either slip right on home or be a complete arse when getting it lined up :lol:

Electrical contact cleaner is the way to go :wink:

Just got back home after the 3 of us fighting with that 1 stupid bolt for about 7hrs....7hrs just to get 1 bolt out :yawn:

. But I am extremely happy that my 2.8 how makes its own electricity again. Means u could have the radio on for the 1st time lol, and the heater...oh the little luxuries that make longish drives almost fun lol.

Steering box defo needs nipping up as its still all over the road, speshily under breaking. And defo going back to normal head light bulbs. Can't be dealing with no high beams...not were I live (out in the sticks, nothing but country lanes)
