WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Having had a helping hand from fudge last week to get my electric radiator fan wired up in time for the south east Weekender in the Woods, it was time to rewire it properly (with cable ties and everything :shock:

) with the assistance of RobFOG. What started out as a morning's job tops ended up being pretty much an entire day as we started to tackle more and more little jobs!

So, with the fan fully wired up and a funky new switch installed in the dash - as opposed to just on it (was waiting to mount it, I swear!) - a new 4-way fuse box installed, a new (to me) CB wired up and installed with a fresh new sparewheel bracket mounted aerial that works better than 4' away, and my rear work light wired up better, I'm really happy with how things have turned out! When wiring looks good and is installed properly, it really does make you feel happier about life... or is that just the techy geek in me?! :crazy:

Fubarbed the turbo on friday. Was out n about replacing a HV RIng Main Unit at a secret airfield in wiltshire when the truck started making a weird noise not unlike a pressure safety valve lifting and the oil pressure went up.... checked the oil pressure switch for the normal fronty 'wet switch' syndrome and it was soaked so I put the eratic oil pressure readings down to that. Noise now stopped and funny enough so has the turbo

No smoke coming out the back so touch wood the seals are still good, the truck just drives up hills with less enthuasium now and the turbo gauge works in reverse

Last oil change was about 2k ago.

Going to quickly check oil flow through the turbo and look for a replacement unit.

Started it up............and took her for a spin for the first time in ages, 4 more weeks till I get paid then finally I hope to go laning.
Its a killer 5 weeks with no pay

That will teach me to not start a new job at such a silly date :lol:

I'm trying to keep off the lanes at the mo (while i decide the trucks fate) but I may be tempted Ste if you end up down this neck of the woods :wink:

Stick with it, no major problems with it like the last couple :wink:

Ancillaries will always pack in with the grief they get in the muddy water :lol:

I may well keep it, just not for laning

Turbo update.

Very stiff to rotate, like Very.... stiff. But it does go round with a little help from a gert bit screwdriver :shock:

Oil takes a bit of time to drain through as well

Think it needs a new un. Anyone got one they would like to exchange for some beer tokens? I may even consider the 2.8 it's attached too as well... :lol:

Nothing as I took the vectra for an MOT and she passed

Been out with a tape measure taking the vital statistics of Holly and Sophie's front ends (wahay!!), then had a quick chat with Hound Dog again.

Seems the bullbar mounts are identical across all three cars, but the bumper mounts on Sophie are about 4mm further apart than the other two, so the winchbumper definitely won't fit.

Bend em in then...dont be such a girl! :lol:

Worst case scenario, cut them off, move them in and reweld...

As Greg said, 4 mm with a good hammer is feck all.

fit one end, then keep ramming a wall with it until the other end fits..

once they finish their embroidery that is eh Snapper... :lol:

I suggested a wall but Jim didn't want to play!!

And FBH ( fecking big hammer) cures all

It obviously doesn't fit lads ... therefore surplus to Jim's requirements. I will happily pop down and double check and should the worse be decided on happily dispose of it for you.
