Forgot to say ... I left the keys to my truck to Mrs Ratcav to take to work as I borrowed hers to get the A/C sorted at my work.

Apparently the security guards at her place are itching to see the truck, especially one guy with a Pajero who wants to get into the modding, and off roading scene. Might get him to a Thetford meet and if he works out ok bring him along to a woods meet.

Personally I reckon they just want to see the novel sight of a young blonde female driving a huge modded 4x4 (possibly the biggest truck on FOG :twisted:

Did 750 miles in it in 11 days on holiday. Just got back . Other than a fubarred starter motor it towed 5 people plus all their crap and a five berth caravan up some major inclines. Never had to drop from fifth. Gotta love diesel torque

As for me, Mrs RatCav got tons of funny looks and comments (all good) from her work collegues about the truck when she turned up for work. She had to improvise a parking space on a grass embankment as there wasn't a normal one big enough :twisted:

not had time until today but at weekend....

approximately 5 hours to replace the front shocks :shock:

1 hour for offside and 4 hours for nearside - grinder, many hammers, oxy-acetalene, drill, air saw and impact driver - now sitting on +2 rough country shox (ex- frog), raised 6 turns, chopped bump stops, repacked wheel bearings, AVM hubs, plasma rope and fairlead from winchmax PLUS rear part of exhaust now fallen off after silencer - no more grounding out!!!

got new top and bottom ball joints + BJ spacers, but after the saga with shox, i think this truck has not EVER had any mechanical maintenance, I gave up!

now need dislocation cones welding in place and ready for weekender

think i should have gone for a stock lwb 2.4 on gas - less hassle and less stuck !!!!!

Did remove the front bar so the truck looks a bit different from now on...

Have to do some work on the front bumper against rust. Hope to get it well off on friday. Keep on sprain' the screws each day...

attacked her with hammerite , and got her insured :thumbup:

brian just needs to finish the lwb light conversion and put bumpers & tow bar back on and i think she's ready for friday
