Fitted new wheels and tyre's to Chrissy's baby!

Give my truck the once over ready for next weekends laning

First time its been started in a month :roll:

Fitted new idler kit at last and adjusted the steering box no longer like a boat :lol:

Finished the head gasket and timing belt . Blanked the EGR ,bled the coolant system, Then went for a drive- 14 miles and the computer is saying 35.7mpg, up from 29.3mpg.
Dont know if its down to blanking the EGR , but i got a feeling the previous belt was one tooth out , as the engine seemed to be braking if you took your foot off going down hill.

Started getting it ready for wales! :dance:

While going to work on Monday I had a flat rear tyre at which point I remembered that my tools, 12V pump etc were in the back of the Passat as we had just come back from holiday :roll:

SWMBO came to the rescue with the Passat and my tools only to find out the Frontera jack broke, couldn't pump up the tyre as it was leaking too fasts :evil:

Back home to collect my trolley jack and finally got it rolling.

Had the tyre fixed (was leaking from the bead) and fitted it today, thought I'd give it a quick run just to make sure it was OK and about 3 miles from home the steering got very heavy so pulled over and the bloody front drivers tyre was flat GGGGRRRRRRRRRRR :evil:

Wouldn't have been a problem but my tools, the spare, 12V pump, trolley jack AND mobile phone were sat on my drive back home DOH!!

Lesson learnt and securely hammered home :lol:

currently listening to the dam alarm going off randomly on Tara .....

Just turned mine around on the drive....... Good news still starts and drives

Started to remove item from the 2.5 so I can post them

Took the old girl to the garage to check out the over revving,(i'd trying cleaning the throttle body out),to be told i need a new or 2nd hand throotle body,but dont buy one from vauxhall as there very expensive :cry:

Oh well.....better start looking

fitted some new fancy number plates and booked it in for the yearly inspection

Removed front bumper as it is looking a little worse for wear, what with writing off a Disco a few years back and embedding it in a rock wall at the Jeep Junkies summer bash this year. Dug out a spare one and built 1 good out of the 2. Painted the centre section, will do the end caps tomorrow

Ordered a full set of wheel bearings and seals for the front N/S from Milners and they turned up today, also ordered a replacement steering arm and after a long discussion with the lady at Milners to try and ensure I got the right one, even mentioning that fact that a few peeps on here had been sent the wrong one they have gone and done it again :twisted:

Will be back on the phone tomorrow to get it swapped out :roll:

AND

Finished stripping the P38, most of the bits are on eBay and the remainder will be off to the scrap yard on Friday

Its replacement is doing just fine, everything works, it starts on the button, goes like stink and the 4WD system is doing what it should, nope its not another Range Rover but a 99 plate VW Passat 2.8 4motion Estate, if only RR's were as reliable as a VW :lol:
