yesterday i did the rear light conversion. made a lot easier cos i'm removing the rear bumpers to replace with chequer plate so just rerouted the wires

took my brake drums off to fit new cables only to find shoes worn out and knackered cylinder,, just got a price £37 for monday then hopfully fit all of them in good weather throw in for mot then try and find money to tax it if it passes? .dun i pre mot check on it and cant see anything else ? maybe a balljoint on nearside but we,ll see

Sold the 2.4 this morning, first time I have been frontyless in 6 years.

I'm just about to go outside check all the fluids etc and see if it still starts then let it sit there for half hour while i watch a dvd inside.

Changed bulb in spotlight,and took off air intake from throttle body and cleaned/sprayed with carb cleaner and seems to be a lot better

,and unblocked washer nozzles.

Fashioned an alternator tensioner out of the only bit of steel I had around. A garden gate hinge :lol:

Thankfully it only has to last until tomorrow.

Removed a broken solenoid from a 2.5 starter motor and replaced it with a solenoid from a 2.2 starter motor then fitted it to Bob he now starts first time of the key

Then flushed all the oil out of the radiator. I've now listed Bob on eBay

I haven't Hidden the fact that it has oil in the water because I've mentioned it in the description

Fixed my radio's case of "Old Man Syndrome" :dance:

Thankfully the coax from the roof antennna has a join behind the N/S speaker so it's a simple job to use a splitter from the CB antenna on the back door. Now using the 5ft CB antenna for reception, rather than the piddly little roof job and I can get all the local stations, better MW, etc.
Unfortunately it does mean I can now get Radio1 again, but you can just push the scan button to go past that :wink:

Fitted my new AKAI (type ACAC105UC) car radio which has a USB socket and a SD card reader built in so now I can take all my music with me, although it would probably take a run up to John o’Groats and back to play it all!

I used a pair of “choc blocks” or screw terminal blocks to sort out the power wiring; changing over the two wires for the main power and the switched 12 volts on the ISO connector. (Thanks Vauxhall)

Na the top of my rad decided it didn't like its self and then snapped
so had no coolant
but now it has fresh coolant in so all good

and last night i went over and gave Dan abduction Pete a hand
when i got there they were just about to separate the box
once i disconnected the electronics from it then we got it apart.
and removed what was left of the bearing and carrier (about 6 big pieces)
then looked at the newer one to find the bearing is on is way out. then i left
so Dan has no fronty at the mo
