i attempted to drill out my snapped bolts, that hold the tank guard in place, oh what fun, half way through the fist bolt the drill bit melted, new drill bit, snapped that one, new drill bit, totally blunt, new drill bit, blunt that one as well, now need to go and buy some new drill bits, and the last one where not cheep, them bolts are steuben little buggers,

Andy,you have probably "work hardened" the bolt use a smaller drill with less speed & more pressure,with a smaller pilot hole you should be able to undercut the hard area :wink:

If you are using drill bits with the gold coloured coating,remember that as soon as the hard coating is worn the bit is relatively soft

had the tracking set on "OJ"

Well, I had to face facts today and realise that it's just not financially viable to fix the Rover. With the amount of welding that needs doing, all the 'niggly' bits that need doing and having to swap out the gearbox and change the clutch, it is time to look for another car :roll:

Would love to get back in a Fronty, but 16 months out of work and being £300 out of pocket with the Rover has put a stopper on that. Also gotta think about the 350 mile round trips to Norwich I'll have to make once my parents move.

Tried to bleed the brakes. AGAIN!!! Time to sell me thinks.

tweaked the front up a little bit on the swb

oh and changed colleys front diff for him after he bust it at bala
