(Ste ) Then fixed the cb mike as the clip had broken and then moved onto fitting a couple of torches, an idea nicked from Horses !! Who nicked the idea from me!!!! :wink:

And 30 mins ago i did this

Put a piece of wood in the car that was a bit bigger than i thought and hit the tail gate when i shut resulting in the above :oops:

That piece of wood is now on the roof :lol:

Yep i am. Glass company called me back and said "we can come out and fit a new screen for you on weds" to which i replied "weds is not soon enough, i cannot drive the car as its too dangerous", they're reply " the window is laminated so won't fall through and will be perfectly safe to drive, but if you get the car to us for 8:30am tomorrow we can fit it then" :shock:

The worst thing is the tailgate didn't even come close to shutting. I opened it tried to pull the wood and was like that's stuck wiggle it loose then went to re route it before I realised lol

Not done much to the Frontera since buying a RR project which has taken most of my spare time since Christmas, however my uber reliable 2.8 is poorly, looks like it might be terminal in the engine dept and have had to give it some attention.

Problems are

1. Huge amount of blue smoke from the exhaust on startup
2. Oil consumption which is usually negligible has gone through the roof (3l in 200 miles)
3. Slight missfire, seems to be running on 3 1/2 cylinders
4. Poor starting
5. Crankcase breather pipe is blowing loads of smoke

The turbo shaft has more play in it than I would like so guessing that would explain some of the smoke. Checked the valve clearances and replaced the injectors in an attempt to cure the missfire but no cigar

Have been offered a good 3.1 Isuzu engine for free but its a 300 mile round trip to collect or alternative is to strip the 2.8 and see exactly whats wrong and rebuild it if not too much work.

Gonna have to pull my finger out and get the RR sorted as the Frontera is currently my daily driver and don't think the engine is gonna last much longer
