WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!

Yep me and fudge went laning last night in thetford. We both got stuck (luckly not at the same time lol). Fudge has the pics/vids of me and i have 2 vids of him.

Warning i do take the mik out of fudge a little lol

it was great fun
all my lights are there and working. but made no difference as dans lights was shining right at me

Jim, if I've got the right end of your tragedy and it's the cab loom thats gone, it's not too bad to replace/repair. The main issue is that you have identified the cause and isolated it. In each footwell you got big connector, when seperated the dash loom comes away with the dash and I think the the big connector adjacent to the wiper motor takes care of the wiring to the engine bay fuse board.

Burnt wiring always looks worse than it is, if you got a copy of the factory diagrams you'll see how easy it is to bin a lot of the cr&p that you no longer need (because it ain't fitted). As long as you can read the diagrams and can solder (cause it's better than crimps), with due diligence and patience you can repair it.

I did nothing to my truck today but I did fill my work wagon up £550 diesel per tank and there's 2 tanks :shock:

Thankfully running the fronty ain't that expensive to fill!!

front bumper removed, just waiting for next step now

drove over to matlock to tow horse45 Big robs Truck home and then gave him a hand removing his prop and got him a replacement sorted to be delivered home.

had a waggle on his transfer box and prop to get his 4 wheel drive sorted so he at least has front wheel drive till tomorrow when his prop is delivered

Good work lads ... that is impressive if nothing else.

well couldn't have him getting towed home by a land rover again :dance:

as dean says prop ends disintergrated and after a wiggle of my small drive shaft i have four wheel drive again or i will when i get the other prop tomorrow, but big thanks to dean for coming over and helping me get the truck home so i could work on it and a big thanks to all you that helped me with calls and txts thats why i love being part of FOG

Picked up my new (to me) muds

just stood next to my current tyres they look to be about 1.5 to 2 inches taller than my "31's" yet they only ment to be 31.6" tall....I think some1's tape messure was wrong when they made my tyres....Havnt checked now big they actually are yet but they look nice.

Oh and I dont think my engine likes castrol 5w30 oil

I think I am right in saying when they refer to the overall diameter of a tyre it refers to the carcase size, and doesn't include the tread depth.

2.0 Sport

When I got the sport it had a nasty crack in the plastic top on the rad

As you can see it's nearly 4 inches long and runs very close to the hose connector.

After a lot of googling and youtube'ing I came across some stuff called 'JB Kwik Weld' . I've never heard of it, but managed to find some on ebay for £5 so I thought it was worth a try.

Firstly I drilled holes at either end of the crack to prevent the crack enlarging and sand (with coarse paper) to provide a key for the bond.

You then mix an equal quantity of the steel (it's not, but that's what they call it) and the hardner on something non porous and disposible (in my case some kitchen foil).

After mixing it up with an old drinking straw you apply it to the the crack. Now you only get 4 mins to apply it before it starts to go rock hard so make sure you are ready to go!

It doesn't have to be pretty, but you can sand/drill this stuff when it fully cures (4 hours) if you want to make it look pretty.

After 4 hours I chucked the rad back in got it up to running temp and thrashed it up and down. So far all is good and not even a drip.

Result!
