v6 swb

did vauxhall do a v6 swb sport? thinking of changing from my 2.2i fancy a bit more grunt and the v6 soundtrack.

The short answer is yes.
Colley had (or possibly still has, I'm not sure) one of them. They are not common, however.

They are so rare you have more chance of winning the lotto than finding one for sale :lol:

But every cloud n all that, you can pick up a B swb 2.2 with a knackered engine(suprise suprise! :lol:

) quiet cheap n also a lwb B 3.2 like mine for peanuts n if you have the time n space make 1!? :wink:

Just had a look and found one (I think) on gumtree, 2002 Frontera "B" Sport Olympus 2.2 v6, had a new head gasket last year at the cost of...800 quid! (are they gold plated!!) Up for 1750 quid.. Did they do a v6 in the 2.2?? Maybe a typo and meant 3.2? Cannot make out the reg from the pics so cannot check for sure.. Looks nice though.. just under a 100k miles too.. looks good in resale silver, has a black stripe thing on the bonnet lip (hiding rust?!?)

Short answer... No, 2.2 is a 4cyl. The 3.2 is the v6 but if it is the v6 depending on where they had the heads done 800 is reasonable as there are 2 heads and twice the cost to skim and test if they did both like they should. Might be a 2.2 with a V6 transplant??

Your post makes sense, v6, twice the bits, twice the price so sounds right.. I really don't want to know.. but! what mpg woulda v6 fronty get around town! Must be single figures each time put your foot down! :?:

depends how you drive it matey, but leave noisey little hatchbacks at the lights is hard to resist! :lol:

i get low/mid 20s in town if i behave :wink:

Single figures if you put your foot down. Mine used to give me between 14 and 16mpg around town and around 26 on a run. But the more you mod them the heavier they get. Some of them start to give in the region of 11 once you lift them and stick some big muddys on

round town i get 16 to 18mpg on gad and 18 - 20 on petrol which rises to 30is on a long run on petrol and same on gas as i have lwb on lpg and colley will tell you they as much fun as you legally have in the front of a fronty with your trousers on and the swb weigh les so drift more

i dont find mine that thirsty at all chaps? only got low miles n oil changed regular but that shouldnt affect it that much, dont really go on long runs unless laning.

Reading the ad i am 99% sure its a miss print as it says 2.2 all over the ad :wink:

In standard form for my v6 was very good on fuel if you drive her normal. Put your foot down and you need shares in shell :lol:

But that noise n the way the scenery goes past is something you need in your life mate, dont you think :wink:

i hear you danny i hand mine mapped up to 251.6bhp and 342.4 flb of tourque and i love it i dont care about the comsumption because the gas is so cheap

but nothing makes me smile than the surprise on there face when a front goes buy them he he he :dance:

you should see them in the mirror when i pull out of lanes covered in sh1t n they get right up my arse n just for fun :wink:

the lead boot makes an appearance n covers them in mud glorious mud! :lol:

the other month i went up to scarborough and went a little nuts in a freinds field and was covered looked like i had dunked it and on the back i got a twonk in a M5 look alike deisel a run for its money all way down the twist lanes and he was rather upset when we got to the m65 and he moved over to let me past and he realised what was behind him as i didnt realsie till i got home it was a brown bal of mud will head lights and spots nice and shiney but i had forgot to clean the plate so in the dark i must looked right mad max espcailly as i giving it some staying with him.

put his foot to the floor and shot off only took a few secs to catch him up and he was not amused. if he had a m5 he could of lost me but his diesel and his nerve got the better of him and we just sat at 70 the rest of the back to notts i had reconised the car of the new housing estate near me so thought it would make him parranoid as hell and it worked he he he
