Diesel 2.5 & 2.8 Injectors

well quick question to the dirty diesel boys are the 2.5 and the 2.8 injectors the same apart from the number 1 injector of course :?:

Troopers do hold their money a bit more than a Frontera though. Remember that Bighorns are imported Troopers. essentially the same vehicle from the same factory ... though often have more toys.

Lotus Handling kitted versions of the Bighorn are even better with stiffer suspension which is better for everyday road use, but in no way hampers off-road handling (just talk to people who have seen my old Mk.I in action at the woods weekender). Lotus versions have even more toys. My 21 year old Bighorn Lotus has electric one touch windows, heated seats, Air-con (before I ripped it out), rear passenger heater, tinted windows, manually locking front hubs, rear LSD, all fitted as standard.

I would have a Trooper, but I won't pay the ridiculous premium for, to coin your phrase, a Fronty in drag.

Essentially the Fronty and Trooper are one of the same. Both are equally as good as the other in my opinion.

Fronteras are cheaper as well.

LOL... I know mate. I've genuinely been looking at viable alternatives to the Fronty. But it peeves me no end that people can charge a 20% premium for what is essentially the same vehicle. I appreciate the market dictates values, but being a Yorkshireman I resent the extra wonga :wink:

I think the Trooper holds its money more as the general view of the common people is that Vauxhall was/is not a viable and reputable 4x4 manufacturer. Isuzu however have a great history. Most people (mechanics and dealers included) don't know the heritage of the Frontera therefore dismiss it.

A group of us went to a 4x4 show in Suffolk and loads of people came to the FOG stand giggling right up until it was pointed out to them. We even compared the Series A shorties to my Mk.I Trooper, and the Series B LWB to the Mk.IV Trooper there. We showed all the common components. A lot of people went away impressed and also respecting the Frontera far more.

General opinion is always what dictates price. If the demand is low the price goes lower. Troopers will always fetch a good price in good condition. A 1994 Mk.II Trooper 3.1 LWB in good condition and service history could fetch £2000. We would only spend that sort of money on a very good condition late model Frontera B series with healthy service history.
