Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom aAhh it's a B series. No mate, I certainly don't remember it . Is it Diesel ?
Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom aIf the abs light is on then you will probably find that it is one of the seatbelt pre-tensioner connectors under the driver/passenger seats (yellow socket) its common on many cars and very common on fronty B's. With ignition off spray switch cleaner into the sockets and waggle them about (the sockets are spring loaded) do one side then turn ignition back on to see which is playing up. I finally ended up cutting the wires and soldering them up
Hope this helps If at first you don't succeed BUY A FRONTY

Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom atown I get around 22mpg, combined i get around 38 to 40 mpg's. The 2.2 petrol uses more and the v6 more still but you get about the same cost per gallon if you get a v6 with lpg. I have had my Fronty for a couple of years now and its used daily for my work and for green laning too, she performs brilliantly in all weathers, on and off road. The best car I have ever had!

Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom aok thanks, it looks like a tidy motor/ the seller is asking for my car (2.0ltr niagra sport 1997 done 87600 miles + 450 cash) the only thing is the frontera in the pic above has done 138000 miles which seems alot for an s reg even if it is a diesel. Is this normal for these fronteras or is it high, any input appreciated.
Thanks Rich
Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom ahow i look at it, if a car does 10k per year on average then 138 is a bit above, but if it has good service history, runs ok (no smoke!), all fluids are where there supposed to be (not dripping or leaking) then engine wise that mileage isn't anything to worry about. What i would do is give it a dam good test drive to include
full lock steering (listen and feel for any knocking, whining or grating) acceleration and breaking hard (look out for pulling to left or right) make sure that the 4h and 4low work correctly, while you are out try looking at the sockets i told you about to see if it solves the abs problem Some of the things i have said sound obvious but most people forget about these things when looking at a new motor, i myself have done it and bought a pile of c?&p before because it was shiny and looked good especially if you buy off a dealer!! they are good at hiding faults with spit and polish Hope this helps Cheers Tony If at first you don't succeed BUY A FRONTY

Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom aSame car , but now for sale in Wallasey. Makes you wonder why he's getting rid after a month. No mention of an ABS light, and the description lists it as a 99' reg not a 98.

Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom athat reg is from ulster. worth a look at pnc
Re: Does anyone know the history of this fronty _west brom aYep! that is a Northern Ireland Plate around late 1998 early 1999, and if the ABS light is on it is more than likely a wheel sensor (expensive repair). If the air bag light is on then the place to look is under the front seats at the yellow plugs (Cheaper Repair)
