3 wheel nuts safe to drive???

My wheel came off the other night on the dual carriageway :oh yer:

& the wheel studs were knocked out of the holes. I am waiting on a new set of wheel studs to arrive(3 were bent). I need to use my jeep for work everyday & can't afford not to use it. The wheel in question is the passenger side rear & is currently being held on with 3 out of the 6 nuts.
Is it safe to drive??? The most speed I get upto is about 50mph.

In short no, you will be risking your own life and others, plus if the Police spot it the car will be confiscated and cost a few bob to get back.

What if I weld the nuts on??

I still wouldnt risk welds

Here's a quick one for you Drift, why is it most 4X4's only have 5 wheel studs and our trucks have 6 :?:

Most have 6 stud fitments :wink:

more with 6 stud that 5 stud :lol:

Just looked up Jap superstitions and they do have odd numbers as one of them..Odd numbers must come in groups of 3 odd numbers being lucky..Hang on..six studs makes it both odd and even number on six stud wheels so thats naffed that idea up aint it

That is nothing more than blatant neglect, to which you openly accept and admit responsiblity.

What happened if that 100lb + wheel and tyre had travelled across the carriage way and collided with another vehicle or even worst a person or persons !!!!!

IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBLITY TO CHECK THE CONDITION OF YOUR VEHICLE IS SAFE BEFORE EVERY JOURNEY

A wheel does'nt just come loose, it becomes loose over a period time, a period of time that you would of had plenty of warning, Not just one journey, but numerous journey's, I mean one wheel nut coming loose fine, BUT ALL BLOODY SIX !!!!

Then you suprise me even more by asking ...............

You have already endangered the lives of yourself and other road users once due to your neglect, and you have to come on here and ask "IS IT SAFE !!!!"

Some people are just unbeliveable !!!!

I suggest you go back to basics and buy yourself a push bike, or better still walk everywhere, cos believe me, If I had the power in any way, shape, or form to get your prosecuted and to have your licence revoked I would.

Too many people are killed needlessly each year though careless actions like this ...........

Does'nt matter, THE RESONSIBLITY IS WITH THE DRIVER OF THE VEHICLE. Contray to how they came loose.

Explain that one to the family should the worst of happened.

fuddy i lost a wheel from my wagon, lucky for me it was the center wheel, and it just rolled of a landed on the hard shoulder, i did not get done, because the officer who turned up spotted that the studs did not look right, when they got it back to the yard, they redone all the nuts, drove up the road and back and all the nuts where lose, the studs where knacked, all of them

and just to confirm, no its not safe to drive with three nuts holding the wheel on,

personly i think this post should be removed due to the nature of its contents..I do not think this post warrents a public outburst nor is good for the forum

I think the problem here was that the original post didnt mention anything about the youths.

£ youths were arrested for loosening everyones wheel nuts off in the street!! Unlucky for me I was the only one who drove & the wheel came off :evil:
