Hi, how much should i expect to pay for a new water pump & timing belt supplied &fitted, on a 1994 m reg 2.0i sport.?

the pump& belt is about £57 then you would have labour on that
i think its about 3 hrs :drink:

well i got a new price for water pump & timing belt £206 all in..booked in for tuesday, i will feel abit better when this is done, because there is a rattle from the pump area. I have been told it could run like this for a long time but i would rather have the peace of mind as i have no service history!

Trust me, the water pump would be the least of your problems should the belt go :oops:

looks like you got yourself a decent price there, concidering it includes parts aswell.

changed my water pump as soon as I noticed it was making the sounds of complaint.

once, many moons ago, I had an Escort (with that god awful CVH engine) twice the water pump gave up the ghost. once on the M5 at about 80ish.once on a back road miles away from any anywhere .twice it needed belts, valves, head gaskets valve stems and one piston (well all 4 pots got done, but one was proper fubahred) lesson learnt so to say. Our Drifty has recent experience of what happens when the belt gives up..

hopefully you'll have many happy miles of motoring now you are all fixed up..

just got the fronty back from the garage, now the rattley water pump has been changed the engine sounds sweet ,plus now have peace of mind as new timing belt on.
The garage also commented on how good the fronty was underneath and all round,so a good job done,now off for a cruise

i seen them testing it on a run out as they were coming back from chesterfield way when i passed it and thought that wasnt daz driving after flashing all my lights :oops:
