Off to scrap

Well for those who read my previous post headed please helppppppp...i was having problems getting my car to restart after running outta fuel, so after trying lots of advice on here and no joy. I sent back to the original mechanic who sold me the car and he has informed me that it needs to be looked at by an auto electrician but he charges 50 quid an hour which is something i cant afford with only hubbys wage coming in. so jus thought i would update you by letting you know i am scrapping it which is a real shame as its in really good condition and only has 82k on clock ... what i would like to know is other option i considered is Ebay as spares or repairs but would any one have any idea what i should ask for the car. I have now got myself a nice vauxhall Omega which although is very nice i miss my frontera :cry:

I haven't picked up on this before but I know an electrician who might have been able to have a look for you?? (Am also in Hull).

I think there is someone who has had a couple of these in for breaking on that industrial estate near gypsyville who might be interested in it??

awww ty... Thing is we had an auto electrician to look at it months ago as when we were indicating or reversing it was blowing fuses. He came and did some work and took our money and away he went leaving us with the same fault. But what he had done was disconnected my camshaft sensor and tie wrapped it to wires along injectors. So after then we started having problems and he wouldnt return any of my calls, the mechanic reckons he has bypassed the cam and has disconnected wires etc...thing that annoys me is i carry 2 disabled kids in my car and he has done that. do you know ow much the electrician would cost to take a look at my car cos if the price was reasonable i would love to keep my car.

not entirely sure but he came and spent quite a while on mine to try and sort the alarm problem. In the end he left it so at least I can drive it which is a bonus. He has done work on a car my wife owned and he was recommended by a garage in Hessle (Churchside) who I trust very well.

I'll PM his number for you? If nothing else you can give him a ring and explain the problem and he can give you a rough idea??
