Re: my turn todayIt failed on a few things
1, nearside headlamp aim too high 2, offside headlamp too high 3, Front brake application uneven 4, nearside (front to rear)brake pipes excessively corroded 5, offside (front to rear)brake pipes excessively corroded 6, brake load sensing valve linkage seized 7, front brakes in balanced I no 3 and 7 is down to the front pads being low as i mentioned it to dodge before it went for the mot that they was very low. 4 and 5 i think they are being very picky as there is a bit of rust in one place on both pipes. I am sure i can free off the sensing valae linkage. Not to bad at all nothing to major but i am a bit shocked that they failed the pipes
Re: my turn todaylol, too right there being picky, all in all still a great truck.
but if they dont over turn the brake pipe decision i may be on the scrounge. has any one got a pipe flaring tool??? thinking af cutting them on a good section of the chassis and fixing to, then coming back the the load valve thingy from the cut off points half the work, half the cost!!! other stuff on the fail list is piffle lol
Re: my turn todayon number 1 cant you lower the aim from inside the cab with the headlight control its the round knob to the left of the steering wheel
Re: my turn todayi'll give it a twiddle in a mo, as for the flare tool, i may have come up trumps!!!! keep you informed

Re: my turn todaythats not to badder list that
Re: my turn todaywell lights im thinking pretty straight forward, brake pipes, solution found. going to put new pads on front brakes, and clean up the discs etc. load valve thingy is soaking in plus gas as we speak!!!
only thing is now, attentions turned the mrs car as some little oik has JUST PUT HER WINDOWS THROUGH. cheers!!!!!
Re: my turn todayinbetween autoglass and police visits, i managed to get in & ubder my nameless fronty today
got items 4,5,6 crossed off the list, bought some copper tubing, a pipeflaring kit and a load of fittings, cut the pipes halfway down the chassis and joined them there. took the load sensing valve apart and soaked it in a tub of plus gas, free as a bird now, bet the examineer will still say no.............. onto the inside, got my stereo and sub/amp package in, things are going well. cant wait to get it/him/her on the road

Re: my turn todayi purchased a kit off ebay, got 25' of copper tubing, two falring kits (one metric, one imperial) and 10 of each male/female unions for £25......bargain.
and yes i found that too, as i pulled the old lines out, they snapped!!!!.
Re: my turn todayWith the headlamp aim they will adjust the dial on the dash to position '0' before testing so you will have to get them tweaked. Most places will do it as part of the test, but will charge you around £5 per lamp. Its funny but I hear a lot of places failing cars on headlamp aim.
