Mods for 2009

I was wondering... what modifications do you intend to do to your Frontera over the next year ?

Me, I want to actually start competing in the SWB in Trials and perhaps a winch challenge event so will be installing a FIA Engine Kill Switch, a pair of bucket seats, a pair of 5-point harnesses and a fire extinguisher.

I gotta get the LSD in. Lift the body a tad more to make way for a winch, homemade rear waffle board holder, mod the rear chassis crossmember to allow more downtravel and finnally get around to lifting the fuel tank.

Me ...... Going to buy a Defender !!!!

Yes, you read right, I'm on the look out for a defender, has I personally feel I have reach a stage with my truck I feel I can't go any further. And yes, before anyone says it, there is a few other things I could do, body lift, bigger tyres, winch etc, but I choose not to.

No extra Mods in the world would recoup the £2000 + I have already spent on the truck since modding started.

Ill be de catting the car, rubber matting it, all bits are ready for that.
Then hopefully LSD, working on that one :wink:

Making a storage and sleeping area, but being able to fold the sleeping area back to raise the rear seats when needed.

Now i've got it running O.K.
Suspension lift, +2 shocks, new cart springs, bigger boots and a roof rack with some spots.

well im going to revert back to the original bumper, fit new bull bars, 2" body lift, flip the ball joints back,(as i think they are putting to much stain on the old girl), new paint job, new extended shocks, and i may go back to the original wings if i can find a cheep pair,

tax and mot to start with and the od girl stil hasn't got a name

+3 rear shackles
new upper and lower ball joints
snorkle
31 inch tyres
rear storage for recovery oil water etc
good service

probably won't do all this but i have to run the truck on a budget. but non of its really that expensive and it'll be fine for a what i want to do nothing extreame/
i agree jase if i could get hold of a discovery of defender i probably would and will in a couple of years once i replace the family car.

Thinking about plywood storage lockers around and over the rear wheel arches. Carry on working on the nearside rear door pillar to strenghten it so the door stops dropping when opened. Move the power steering reservoir over and remove the dead alarm bits to gain space under the bonnet to store fuel can jump leads and tow rope.Thinking about an aluminium scaffold pole hinged bike rack fixed on permantly.Learn how to post photos on this site.

Now that my DIY stuff is almost over (didn't quite get it finished for Chrimbo

) work is going to start in earnest on the Fronty

1. fit aussie lockers (anyone wanna buy an Isuzu LSD and prop for a 2.8 :?:

)
2. 3" body lift
3. roof rack and spots
4. lift fuel tank
5. rock/tree sliders
6. front winch
7. rear winch
8. sort out the boot with some safe storage space for the spare plus all my laning gear
9. solid flywheel conversion
10. auxillary wiring for inverter/spots/CB/Computer/Phone etc

Guess I'm gonna be busy, first priority is the lockers and body lift

Crivens... For 2009 I intend to:

Fit the 4" rear lift kit when the springs arrive and fettle with the front end to match.
Get a matching set of front shockers and fit them.
Relocate the spare wheel from the boot to the roof or possibly put the rear wheel carrier back on as I want my boot space back.
Fabricate some sort of a shield/splashguard for the alternator.
Snorkel.
Remove the Secondary Air Injection System.
Finally get round to properly bending the gear levers after the bodylift.

I wud like to fit a 2" lift and sort a roof bar for some spots, maybe even a full rack also fit a new cd player.
