Help/Advice Needed - Car Stuck! (lots of pics)

Hi guys,

A member of my Probe club went to a festival last weekend and alas the deluge of rain has turn the field into a mud bath :!:

Her car is the only one left still there and she's worried that any local scrotes might start wrecking it.

Here's the current state of play....

She's tried all the local recovery companies- all said no :!:

Local Fire Brigade said they could help for £350 per hour :!:

Any thoughts :?:

The car has been there a week already and I think the poor woman is about to break down and cry.

In these next 2 pictures your see the ground clearance of the car on a normal road...

Any help/tips/advice on how to retreive the car would be great.

It's in Exeter by the way.

Would have no problem pulling that out but its a 200 mile trek for me making it a 400 mile round trip. For the entertainment value I would pull it out for the price of a full tank of fuel though.

thats only up the road from us ..(bout 15 miles) .....unfortunately i don't have any mot or tax

One problem with towing....stupid body kit covers up the towing eyes :!:

Would it be possible to tow it by taking of the bonnet and attaching to an engine mount or something :?:

no ....best bet is to tow it from the lower wishbones

It looks like it'll have to come out bacwards initially.
The higher you attach a tow rope to the stuck vehicle, the higher it needs to be attached to the tow vehicle, otherwise it'll tend to pull downwards, digging it further in.

If possible remove rear bumper and recover bacwards, I dont think Probe has anything secure in the boot area to tow from.

tow it from the lower front wishbones ......

I'd love to help mate ...but i've got no tax or mot ............................it's just too much of a risk going that far (bout 15 miles) :cry:

Someone has come up with the idea of putting it on a sledge of some sort and dragging it out that way.

One question needs answering tho... why on earth did she not attempt to take the car out as soon as it was apparent that rain aint stopping :?:

isn't there a local farmer you can bung 20 quid to and let him use his tractor to drag it out..?

When cars get mod kits on they never think to leave easy access to towing eyes :roll:

looks like it is at escot surly they would pull it out they are bound to have a tractor i would but with all that bodykit something is bound to get ripped off thef n i would feel all guilty about breaking it

to be honest ...i don't think the owner will mind too much as long as she gets her car back :wink:

Get hold of 2 scaffold boards and place them, long ways either side (inside) of the wheels under the bumper, when the car clears the boards, retrieve them and bring them back to the front, do the same again until you reach solid ground.
