TOP GEAR RANT !!!!!

As anyone just watched Tonights Top Gear and seen such a blantant disregard and abuse of the Country Side.

I sat there, been a Top Gear Fan for the past 20 years with my head in my hands cringing at what Clarkson was Doing AND saying.

For those who did'nt see it, basically, Clarkson was in A Terios 4x4 decalled out as a FOX been chased across the country side by numerous hounds and Horses.

He had no respected for anything other than to make himself look good. Crashing through hedges, driving off clearly maked tracks, desmating woodland area's, wrecking ponds, and ditches, do I need to go on.

It is my intention to make a formal complaint to the BBC and to the TV regulators.

I will be posting a standard Letter of compaint to which I hope you will copy and forward on via Email to other forums, the BBC and the TV Regulators.

Shows like this do us genuine Greenlaners no favours and as far as I am concerned, that was The last ever TOP GEAR I will be watching.

Hopefully, between us, this damage caused by this type of program can be limited.

I too was well peeved at his actions

Irresponsible & downright thoughtless. He will argue no doubt that it was on private land but that will not help our fight to win support for laning.A 4x4 protest & mass ride to the BBC might embarrass TG into doing a more productive program on laning.

I understand where you are coming from and the way it looks, but all those actions will be with the land owners consent, as all hunts can only opperate with the consent of the land owner to.
I kind of think it was a tongue in cheek two fingers up at the ramblers.

What a disgrace to 4x4 owners, a Terios a proper 4x4 :roll:

I agree that TG almost definateley did that shoot on private land and with the landowners permission but the item on the show was introduced as "Green Laning". TG and the BBC should issue a statement saying that the piece that was broadcast had absoluteley nothing to do with green laning, as they are playing into the hands of the very people they were putting 2 fingers up to, and harming their own audience.

That's the trouble with this country we have gone PC mad, no offence meant Jase but if Clarkson has the approval and permission of the land owner what,s the problem, it was a bit of fun, the green grass he cut up will return, the hedge he smashed through can be repaired and nobody got hurt.

ok its was introduced as green laning, and it was not, what richard said was more true, but lets be honest if you were given 9 miles of privte land to play on i think you go a bit fast in places, although he smashed through a hedge i think there was no hedge to smash through, just a bit tight, just to make it look good on tv,

It was in spirit with the rest of the episodes, quite tongue in cheek

I was entertained, and he had to do something to try and beat the similar episode with the RR sport and the tank.
But hay, he did nothing for lane awareness with this one….

he did open and close the gate after him self, although he did forget to put the hand brake on, fool

it was no more than a bit of enterainment ill advised but just a tv show to entertain people
if it had crashed through a hedge it would of at least had a damage headlight

remember when they did the caravan holiday

and thee crashed into a post and an awning
when it caught fire it was not even on the caravan site but moved to a farmers field as caraven club would not let them do it

Ayup you dont go greenlaning on private land that is called off roading not laning greenlaning is on public roads Top gear should not have said they were laning as they were on private land they did not break any laws and with the land owners permition can do any thing they want to its a shame that they said they were on greenlanes because some small mined people may think that all laners are like this and what i mean by this JC is a total TO$$ER

Unfortunately people wont look at the program for what it is.... entertainment tongue in cheek a laugh at the PC generation that we live in. I'm a JC fan actually. A lot of what he says and does is only taking what a lot of us really think and turning it into Satirical comedy.
Unfortunately as I statred to say... people will put all 4x4 users into a single pot and use this type of programming to have another go at how irresponsible we all are!.
Its like having to cringe when your kids tell the truth publicly about things that get done or said in private but are not meant for public airings :oops:
