it'll only take five mins

Am i a fool or what, painting my bonnet the other day i suddenly thought i would take my bumper off and give it a quick sand and prep how long could it take not more than a few mins. three hours later and lots of WD40 i had one removed bumper and some scraped knuckles. just wondering how many other jobs take the preverbial few mins and end up taking hours.

yep i really love the feeling you get when you snap a bolt off in a captive nut

Well i dont think i have ever done a job on mine without breaking a bolt or cutting some part of my anatomy :roll:

I've lost count at how many times my truck has bitten me :twisted:

Its bites far worse than its bark....

Miraculously, when I swapped a 12 year old enging out for a new one, I only snapped one bolt - one of the pair that hold the power steering reservoir bracket onto the inner wing. - That was well lucky.

As i have a company car which is a sad passat i love the fact that i can tinker and the bugger will bite back.

I had to grind off all the bolts on my front bumper - and the captive nuts.

Now I have brand new ones in it is a joy to take it off. I do so regularly just to remind myself how much better it is now.

Satin black on the bumper - love it.

i've lost count at the times my front bumper has been on and off :oops:

....but it's easy peasy to do

also removed my rear axle,fuel tank

the rear end was up high enough to just roll the axle back in :lol:

what a walk in the park that was to do

when working on the fronty i always keep a set of easy outs about, you know it makes sense

last night i went to spend an hour at my mates to refit an lpg tank and petrol tank,3 hours later we got 2 straps on on the lpg tank,so 1 strap and the petrol tank to go

Pretty much everything that Iv ever tried to do on the frontera that was supposed to only be a few minutes/hours has turned into hours/days.

i love the fact that my old fronty can be tinkerd with by myself who's no expert mechanic and with forums like this how far can i go wrong and if it does i just fix it with a hammer.

I have noticed a trend among the potteries members,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,they all seem to have a 6 hammer tool kit. :shock:
