Re: Thread for anyone to chat about my Members Rides PostsThat is fast becoming a nice tidy motor.
Nice colour as well. Lawrence
Re: Thread for anyone to chat about my Members Rides PostsIts fast emptying my wallet is what it is.
Funds from sale of Sport are already well spent! Hopefully I'll MOT it and not need to touch it for a year! One thing - the 31" tyres seem to rub on the front mud flaps - I might have to remove them. Is this normal? Cheers

Re: Thread for anyone to chat about my Members Rides PostsNormal, sort of, depending on what wheel offset you have and what tyres you have.
My Jupiter's didn't rub, but the Goodyears' did - I removed the factory mud flaps and discreetly removed the return lip of the front valance. Lawrence
Re: Thread for anyone to chat about my Members Rides PostsI removed them.
New polished pics in the gallery. Cheers

Re: Thread for anyone to chat about my Members Rides PostsLooking very good CJ, just goes to show what effect a bit of TLC can have even on an old car
Quick one though, how much did the shotblasting of your tank guard and front bashplate work out at?? They look very nice done out in red, heh Jim...

Re: Thread for anyone to chat about my Members Rides PostsTankguard was £15 to get blasted and primed, BAchplate was £10. Paint was spray on smooth red hammerite. I also used any old paint on the inside of both as you'll never see it. Did inside first then flipped them to do the visible red paint - spraying it through the holes to give the impression it is red on both sides.
About a tin of hammerite on each item, maybe a bit more, maybe 3 between them. Worth putting lots of thin-ish layers down. Just been to see the new screen - it was put in while the car is at my mechanics - and it's a spotless job - no shards or errant sealant anywhere. Hopefully get it back in a few days. I'm considering putting up an itemised list of all purchases and jobs done - sound interesting? (if a little scary) Cheers
