Drill sharpener

Has anyone tried or got an electric drill sharpener. I can sharpen them on a grinding wheel but it can be hit and miss. Any info appreciated as I have about 50 drill bits that won't cut butter.

All I ever use is the diamond wheel in my angle grinder, does for chisels too and cutting tiles and shortening screws/bolts,shapes wood too oh and it is great for putting a chamfer on soil pipes .It is the original electric swiss army knife

Any chance of giving me a clue as to what it is or is it a secret. Not interested if it is steam powered though.

I don't suppose you can get a 25mm drill bit (not a hole saw) in that magic machine Bobby? I got one here that needs some attention after I blunted it drilling some holes on a Bull Bar.

For a drill of 25mm diameter you would need a either a wide grindstone or a belt sander.I do have a large 3 phase belt sander which I sharpen big drills on. Its important to keep dipping them in water to keep cool.
At a pinch, say I was on site, I would have a go with an angle grinder, a bit hit and miss , and probably get it sharp enough with an angle grinder. The other thing to do with big drills is just take the sharp edge off slightly this means they won't snatch the metal and dig in.
Its possible a blacksmith or fabricator local to you could do it for you.
