time has no meaning

Does anyone have a clue why the clock in my A series resets whenever I turn the engine off no matter how many times I set it when I get in it the time is 1:00

Check to see if your fronty has a Mr Fusion, if it does it's likely you've gone Back To The Future.

Its got an ignition live on it not a permanent live that keeps the time locked in! Swap the power wire for a permanent live!!!

Alternatively, check the wiring loom for possible shorts.
The clock should be on a permanent live as standard on the factory loom - there's only two wires running to it. The dash clock in the BBB started playing silly devils occasionally in the run up to the wiring loom catching fire.
If the clock is resetting itself every time you turn the ignition off, I'd ne wondering if somebody has been messing with the loom, or something is rubbing through the insulation and shorting it out.
